Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We’ll have a few patches of the “Skiing of the Green” (but not the golf greens, please stay off of those). Very warm overnight with no freeze and a return to warm, breezy spring-like conditions today before the storm. It is too warm to groom today, but the surfaces are in good shape from the snowcat groom yesterday. The 3km, Practice Loop and Armstrong trails will be open today. Trails will have classic track where possible and surface best described as snowcone texture. Temperatures will be warm all day with a mixed bag of slush and grassy areas growing near the edges, so pay attention. Skiing will be consistently okay all day and we highly recommend classic skiing to help preserve the snow. There will be some glaze in the classic tracks due to the high moisture below the surface.
We have icy patches, grassy patches, exposed pavement and wet areas under the snow and near the trail so keep your eyes open, stay alert and ski safely. The 5k, Dog Loop and Farm are CLOSED. Wax will be red/yellow with structure over the day today for kick and glide. Dripping or spraying some hot wax on the tips and tails of your equipment will help you glide with Joy. Please be aware of any icy or wet patches near the trails, on any pavement and on walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails.
When you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a break from the news we’re here for you. It will be a perfect day to drop off your skis for a hot wax spa treatment to keep you gliding or even a storage wax if you’re about done for the season. Grab a warm mug, bundle up for the breeze, venture gently out on the trails, be safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our incredible ski community and being engaged enough to read all the way down here to the wet, slushy parts of the trail report! Drop in the store to say hi, shop the 40% off sale and visit for a bit. Everyone ski safe and grab some winter while you can. We don’t know when closing day will be but don’t wait to get your ski on!
We strongly recommend stopping in the shop BEFORE you head out on the trails when we have these changing Spring conditions. If you head out and assume you know the conditions, you could be quite surprised. We want you to have a great ski experience every day and we’re doing our best every day to try to make it happen. Everyone ski safe and aware!
