Spruces

Spruces skied quite nicely between about 10:30a and 12:30p Friday. It was scary firm before 10a. Note that the overnight low was 42. The track locks up hard in temperatures well above 32. I was striding on klister right down the middle of the track. The skating was fast and predictable during that time. Forest Service is planning to groom Saturday morning, which will make the skiing even better. Tomorrow’s forecast for strong winds and heavy cloud cover should keep the track skiing nicely all day Saturday. Sunday and Monday should be a good surface as well, but watch the forecast and hit that window where it is soft but not too soft. Based on current forecast, for Monday I would expect that to be between 11a and 2p. Go ski!
