White Pine

A HUGE THANK YOU to our groomer and shoveling teams who’ve spent hours out on the trails making your skiing possible. It’s difficult work and they give their all to make the trails as great as conditions allow. Volunteer shovelers are welcome to help.

Saturday Haiku:
Trail is quite good,
small icy spots peeking grass,
ski it with a smile

Continued Spring conditions. Share the trails. We have a lot of skiers and somewhat limited trails with about 8km total open. Be friendly out there and please no walking or dogs on the trails.
Cold nights are helping keep the snow around but moderating warm afternoon temperatures are keeping it good. Blue or purple wax until mid morning, then red wax SPF 50+ late in the day for skate and classic if it warms up. The 3km loop remains wrapped in snow and open with good coverage due to some heroic shoveling efforts. We groomed a very light skate lane refresh on the 3km “Community Loop”, the 5km “Pond Loop” and Armstrong access last night.
Detours are in place and a short walk is required to connect the two halves of the 5k. Ski with awareness, patience and focus. Skiing will be good all day today. Trail coverage remains very good in most places. We have disappearing glazed classic track throughout the network. Armstrong access is packed and OPEN to the field but thin and exposed beyond that.
Ski with caution in the corners, crossing cart paths and near the trees as the trails remain thin and the lack of fresh snow is not helping. There are unmarked hazards and the afternoon sun will start to deteriorate exposed parts of the track further. The Farm and Dog Loop ski trails remain closed. We are OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons, rentals of skis and snowshoes.

Come in to the shop, purchase your trail pass and ski the day! Snow dances are nightly at sunset on the deck. It will be a lovely sunny day for skiing, wrap up early, peel off layers later and go play on the snow! Ski now, the next storm is likely more than a week away.

We have a TOKO Wax clinic Sunday afternoon 1/18/26 at 3:30 at the Nordic Center. Come in a learn the basics of ski base and skin care from our experts. $10 cover charge at the door with discounts on waxes and accessories after the clinic. There may be a prize giveaway too!
