Transitioning back to winter? Temperatures were cold overnight. Crunchy, granular crust conditions early will soften a bit with increasing temps mid day. Blue wax morning, violet from mid-day. Skating will be very exciting early, classic tracks are solid from late afternoon groom yesterday and softening through the day. Spring conditions mean crunchy in the morning and soft late afternoon. Find the sweet spot and enjoy. Watch for traffic updates from UDOT on I-80 as they try to move the elk herd. Canyon closed westbound beginning at 10am today.

Stay tuned, maybe get ready to call your council person or mayor. Salt Lake’s Mayor approved extending the season at Mountain Dell and didn’t even require a SLC Council vote.
