Another Joy-filled Spring-like day in the mountains. We did a very light smoothing of the 3k after sunset last night so the surface should be very good and firm early. Cold overnight means the track should stay pretty nice again today. Spring conditions on repeat. The 3 km “Community Trail” is open and skiing very well. The 5 km “Pond Loop” is closed but the off track snow is quite good. Route finding skills are helpful. It has some gaps and is discontinuous but offers wonderful ski, walk on the grass and ski again options. Definitely a multiport activity.
Blue early wax and red wax later in the day. Skiing be best today until about 1:00 when temperatures will be well above 40 degrees F (again). Surfaces are not deep at all, so ski with care and caution. If you skate, ride a flat ski and if you are cutting deep, please switch to classic so we can preserve the snow for the next days. If you go out late in the day, please classic ski if it is soft.
Come in early to purchase or pick up your season pass and check out all the gear and clothing while we have the best selection of the season. Think snow! Hours 9am to 5pm daily. You must have a trail pass purchased and displayed to access our trails. Everyone ski safe, smile, say “Hi” to your fellow skiers, visualize warm holiday baking and spread some pre-holiday Joy!
There are a few shovels and scoops on the 3km trail. Enjoy some cross training and toss a couple of scoops of snow on to the trail thin spots. You’ll be stronger, get great feeling of being part of our wonderful ski community and also help the track last longer. Even a few scoops will warm your heart, fill your trail and keep the ski joy rolling.
