Produced a decent-looking skate track from where the snow begins up the road a short ways to the top. This afternoon, after some intermittent patches, a continuous snow route over the asphalt began 1/3 mile from the gate, with full coverage beginning .5 mi from the gate (and of course these distances will be increasing!). Groom begins at .6 mi. If you go not too early and not too late (I’d go out on a limb and say 9:00), perhaps approaching with an old pair of shoes you can stash in the bushes—and measured expectations—you should have a good time.
Fat bikers, please go EARLY so you’re not creating the troughs that ruin things for all the skiers that follow you, like the deep ones I cleaned up today.
