Much ado about not too much snow yet. About 2 inches of snow overnight and this morning so far. We’ll see some snow showers off and on through midday, but it doesn’t look like the predicted snowmaggedon so far. We’ll pack and reset the 3km and Armstrong trails today. The trail below the new snow is in pretty good shape so skiing should be slow but good today. The 3km, Practice Loop and Armstrong trails will be open today. Trails will have classic track where possible and a soft surface . Temperatures will be below freezing so skiing will be consistent all day There will be some glaze under the fresh snow in the classic tracks due to the high moisture below the surface. We have icy patches, grassy patches, exposed pavement and wet areas lurking under the snow and near the trail so keep your eyes open, stay alert and ski safely.
The CLOSED ropes are still up and wrapped around the 5k, Dog Loop and Farm. Wax will be blue/violet with structure today for both kick and glide. Polishing, spraying or dripping some wax on the tips and tails of your equipment will improve your glide and your skiing pleasure. Please be aware of any icy or wet patches near the trails, on any pavement and on walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails.
If you need to take a therapeutic physical and/or mental getaway or a much needed break from the news cycle we’re here for you every day. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a hot wax spa treatment to keep you gliding or even a storage wax if you’re about done for the season. Grab a steamy mug, bundle up for the breeze and snow, venture out on the trails, keep an eye out for bunnies and other wildlife, ski safe and be kind.
