It’s the first day of Spring! A little breezy with a chance of blustery showers today. The magic 8 ball indicated that the outlook is good for both skate and classic today. We’ll have a second day of the rare combination of winter snow conditions in March. We’re lightly grooming the 3km and Armstrong skate surface today. No changes to yesterday’s good classic tracks. Skiing should be very good today with moderate air temperatures and cold snow all day. The 3km, Practice Loop and Armstrong trails will be open today. Trails will have a whole milk latte foam surface with the transformed snow. There are icy patches, grassy patches, exposed pavement and wet areas lurking under the new snow and near the trail so keep your eyes open, stay alert and ski safely.
The CLOSED ropes are still up and tied across the 5k, Dog Loop and Farm.
Wax will be violet/red with structure today for both kick and glide. Polishing, spraying or dripping some fresh wax on the tips and tails of your equipment will improve your glide and your skiing Joy. Please be cautious of any icy, muddy or wet patches near the trails, on any pavement and on walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a hot wax spa visit to keep you gliding or a storage wax if you’re about done for the season. Grab a warm mug, dress for the slightly breezy morning, keep an eye out for bunnies and other wildlife, ski safe and be kind. We strongly recommend stopping in the shop BEFORE you head out on the trails when we have these variable Spring conditions. If you head out and assume you know the conditions, you could be quite surprised. We want you to have a great ski experience every day and we’re doing our best every day to try to make it happen. If it’s time for your summer storage wax, bring your skis. We’ll put some good wax on your bases for summer protection and scrape them for free when we reopen in November. Drop them off soon!
