We had about 2 inches of wet snow last night and we’re looking at a blustery day with a chance of breezes and occasional showers We’ll have slowly warming temperatures through the day. We’re grooming the 3km and Armstrong surfaces today. The classic tracks will ski in well with the new snow, but might glaze through the day as more skiers glide through them. There are gaps in the tracks due to the thin coverage in places so don’t be afraid to step out if you see grass in front of you. Skiing should be good today with moderate air temperatures. The 3km, Practice Loop and Armstrong trails will be open again today. Trails will be firm for skating with some glaze developing in the tracks for classic. There are icy patches, grassy patches, exposed pavement and wet areas lurking under snow and near the trail so keep your eyes open, stay alert and ski safely.
Wax will be violet/red with structure today for both kick and glide. It will get sticky again today under the cloud cover, so polishing, spraying or dripping and ironing some fresh wax on the tips and tails of your skis will definitely improve your skiing Joy.
Please be cautious of any icy, muddy or wet patches near the trails, on any pavement and on walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. We continue to offer our “get outside and unplug” services daily. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a hot wax massage to keep you gliding or an enriching storage wax if you’re about done for the season. Grab a warm mug, layer for the changing weather, keep an eye out for bunnies, hawks and other wildlife, ski safe and be kind.
