Friday’s Haiku:
Crispy cold blue wax
Winter sheaths the trails today
Sun and smiles abound
Cross Country 101 Friday January 9th 4-6 pm at the Nordic Center. Are you skinny ski curious? Our Nordic experts will go over how, why and where to get into the sport. We’ll go over equipment, how to dress and how to get started! $10 fee at the door with prizes for attendees.
Crispy cold this morning. It was 9 degrees at 7am. It’s almost winter like. We’ve groomed the 3km Community Loop first this morning with as much classic track as possible and then we’ll head to Armstrong and the 5km loop (packed but very thin in places) to see if the coverage is sufficient to open them.
Conditions will be firm and cold for skating this morning, classic skiing will be quite good all day. Please ski with awareness in the corners and under the trees as the trail remains thin in a couple areas. There are unmarked hazards here and there. The newly raised golf cart paths are unavoidable and we’re working to keep them hidden.
Definitely a blue wax day today. Our other ski trails remain closed for right now. We are OPEN 9-5 today with our XC in store clinic this afternoon. We are offering lessons, renting skis and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your trail pass and give us a smile on the way out to ski! Keep those snow dances going. It will be a lovely day for skiing, bundle up and go play!
