Sunday Haiku:
Crisp and cold ski day,
Peaceful white carpet, no ice,
Be kind, stand and speak.
The groomers laid down a beautiful smooth carpet of white snow again last night on the 3km “Community Loop.” Very cold overnight (10F) and today (~20F) means a firm dry base with a powdery surface all day. Enjoy the results of our work out there and please no walking or dogs or walking of dogs on the trails. Cold temperatures have been key to helping keep the snow around. We’ll definitely be open and skiing well through the weekend. Warming temperatures this week may affect the trail.
Blue wax all day today with base structure and SPF 30+ for skate and classic. The 3km is OPEN with good coverage due to the heroic community and staff shoveling efforts and skillful grooming. Classic tracks are skier set adjacent to most of the loop and skiing well.
The 5km Loop, Armstrong, Dog Loop and Farm trails are CLOSED. Ski with attention and caution on the firm trails. There are unmarked hazards out there.
We are OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons, rental skis, and snowshoes.
Drop in the shop, pick up some warm winter gloves and a buff, purchase your trail pass and ski! Join us for snow dances, offerings to the snow deities, light appetizers and snow bunny spotting every evening at sunset. It will be a lovely day for skiing, wrap up, ski well, snap into your bindings and string together some fun laps! Ski now whilst we have it, the next real storm will arrive eventually… someday…in the future…maybe…we’ll see…
A HUGE THANK YOU to our groomer, staff and ski community volunteer shoveling teams who’ve spent hours out on the trails keeping your skiing possible. It’s difficult work and we give our all to make the trails great. We have the best and hardest working community of supporters and staff around.
