White Pine

Tuesday Haiku:
Too much heat to bear,
Doom scrolling weather forecast,
Salty tears meltdown.

The relentless heat has won for now. We have suspended grooming to preserve the golf course, our equipment and our sanity. We are still offering lessons and tours today. We managed four weeks of great skiing from the 6 inches that fell January 5th. There are segments of good skiing on the 3km trail, but it is now not continuous due to extreme melting yesterday. If you head out to enjoy the good segments, please be cautious in the thin and/or exposed areas of the trail. Please no walking or dogs or walking of dogs on the trails.

Above 50 degree temperatures the last two weeks have brought out some icy, grassy or cart path patches from below. Red beanies are still recommended. The 5km Loop, Armstrong, Dog Loop and Farm trails are CLOSED. The shop is OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons, rental skis, and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase some new gear and head outside to play in the sun. Drop off your skis for a wax spa session or a last minute Boulder Mountain Tour race wax.
Join us for frenetic snow dances, sacrificial offerings to Ullr, yoga and snow bunnies after sunset. Ski the remaining bits while we still have it, the next real storm will arrive eventually… someday…in the future…maybe…we’ll see…still believing…fingers crossed…looking to the sky…yesterday was a tease…checking the magic 8-ball twice a day…thinking positive still….despite the heat….it simply must snow, right?…maybe next week…definitely not this week…

Attention Season Pass Holders! All 25/26 Season White Pine Touring Season Pass holders are eligible for a 20% Thank You discount on complete (skis, bindings, boots and poles) Nordic ski packages. Come in now for the best selection while we still have your sizes!
