(Thurs. Mar. 31) Last Deer Hollow Grooming for the Season!
Today was the last Grooming Day for the season… 😢 it was snowing as we were grooming. The Big Cat was able to lay some good corduroy and track. All of the XC Trails were groomed with the big SnoCat Groomer, and tracks were set on most.
Snowshoe trails were groomed with the BearCat snowmobile and small YTS Groomer.
Todays Groomers were Jess H. (FS) & Volunteers: Steve, Topher, Chris, & Jim.
The Deer Hollow snow pack is a settled 3 ft., making good backcountry/off-trail conditions. These beautiful spring conditions, won’t last long, so get out and enjoy!
For us “Die-Hards”, the skiing and snowshoeing doesn’t end now! Skiable snow may last into May on protected north-facing slopes… you just have to be willing to find it.
Note: After the grooming, a couple of inches of new snow fell on the trails.
