We strongly recommend stopping in the shop BEFORE you head out on the trails when we have these changing Spring conditions. If you head out and assume you know the conditions, you could be quite surprised. We want you to have a great ski experience every day and we’re doing our best every day to try to make it happen. Everyone ski safe and aware!

We are still in snow saving mode here at the Community Center. We are grooming the 3km and Armstrong this morning and resetting some classic track where we are able. The snowcat will be purring along with a very light touch. We will have a good surface early and through early afternoon. The older classic tracks should soften up by mid-day. The 5k remains closed, but if you pick your way out, the crust skiing should be okay for a while today. Skating will be creamy smooth on top and firm underneath this morning and softening over the day. Everything held up surprisingly well in the afternoon sun yesterday. We do have some icy patches and wet areas under the snow so keep your eyes open, stay alert and look forward. It will be a good sunny day for snowshoeing if the skiing isn’t your vibe and you still need to get outside. Please check in at the Nordic Center for any updates.

The Dog Loop and Farm are very patchy, uneven, muddy, icy and CLOSED and not recommended for skiing. Keep an eye out for the low bush and moisture flowing below the surfaces. There are grassy, icy, wet and cart paths patches lurking underneath and near the trails. Skiing will be best between 9 and about 2:00. If it does soften significantly, please switch to classic skiing late in the day to prevent skate ruts from forming.
Wax will be red with structure for skate and classic today then yellow on top by afternoon. Wax matters in weather like this. Well-waxed fish scales or skin skis for classic will be a great option today. SPF 30+ for your face today is also recommended.
Please be aware of any icy patches near the trails, in the parking lot and on walkways. Please walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. No walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. When you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a long break from the news cycle we’re here for you. It will be a perfect afternoon to drop off your skis for a warm wax massage treatment. Grab some Joy out on the trail, breathe that fresh air, soak in some sunshine, be safe and be kind out there. Thank you for being part of our remarkable ski community and reading through our long-form free verse trail report. The snow bunnies will be out for their usual shenanigans early this morning. Drop in the store to say hi, shop the sale and visit for a while. Everyone ski safe and ski while it lasts!

If you completed three Wasatch Citizens Series races or were a race season pass holder and you haven’t picked it up yet, your WCS beanie is available at the White Pine Touring Nordic Center. Drop in and pick it up!
