It’s another beautiful morning here at SoHo. Come enjoy the sunshine and our 1.8km ribbon, snowmaking continues so please use caution on the trails and watch for slow spots of freshly blown snow.
Please note that all trails will be closed to the public during Super Qualifier races from 11am on Thursday the 22nd until 1pm on Sunday the 25th.
Solitude Nordic
Good morning! At 0815 it is 8°F with no new snow overnight. All trails groomed except Camp Loop. Expect soft conditions and no Classic tracks on Cornucopia. All other trails in good shape with occasional soft spots in the middle of the trail. Beautiful cold snow conditions!
White Pine
Crispy cold this again this morning. It was 11 degrees at 7am, so blue wax all day. We groomed the 3km Community Loop AND the 5km loop last night. We have classic track on almost all of the 3km and some nice portions of the 5km They are cold and firm this morning for the start of your ski day. Armstrong is packed and OPEN but thin and exposed in a couple areas still. Ski with caution and awareness. A HUGE Thank You to our grooming team who have spent hours out in the cold making the trails happen.
Conditions will be firm and cold for skating this today, classic skiing will be quite good all day. Please ski with awareness in the corners, on cart paths and under the trees as the trail remains thin in a couple areas. There are unmarked hazards here and there. The newly raised golf cart paths are unavoidable and we’re working to keep them hidden. The Farm and Dog Loop ski trails remain closed for right now.
We are OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons and rentals of skis and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your trail pass and give us a big grin on the way out to ski! Keep those snow dances going. It will be a lovely sunny day for skiing, bundle up and go play! Maybe the snow bunnies will be out basking in the cold sunshine today.
Saturday Haiku:
This will be the time,
Sunshine, blue sky, blue wax Joy.
Do not miss this day.
Give yourself or someone you love a gift of a skiing experience. It lasts a lifetime and never goes out of style. Booking and gift certificates are available in the shop and online! A 10 punch trail pass never expires and is sharable and transferrable!
SR-65
There was a not-grand total of maybe 2 inches at the gate and not enough to groom. I skinned carefully to Affleck, but that will not be an option for much longer with 40 degree days in the forecast. Sigh.
Spruces
Good morning Spruces skiers. What a great storm – we finally are able to groom all our trails. I rolled the Spruces Upper and Lower Loops this morning, as well as the Jordan Pines Trail and Loops. I also cut the tree on the Upper Loop. All trails are now groomed and open. Please be careful as there are still a few rocks poking out here and there. Have a great weekend.
Jeremy Ranch
God Morgen,
This storm wasn’t what we thought it would be. We received about 5 inches in the last two days. Our deepest area on the trails are only about 6 inches. We tried to pack areas of the lower trail but they were too thin and went straight down into the grass. We still need about 5-6 more inches to get it nicely packed down and ready to ski. The winter conditions need to come fast and furious. Thank you for your patience as we wait for more snow.
We are currently selling season passes and punch passes so come in and get set up for the season. The Nordic Golf Shop is also stocked with ski equipment from Atomic and Salomon, and Nordic apparel from Kjus, Rossignol and Odlo.
We currently have a “Glide Into the Nordic Golf Shop Sale” on all of our Nordic apparel and equipment.
Ha en flott dag,
Thanks for your support of the Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center!
Soldier Hollow
We got about 2 inches of natural snow yesterday afternoon and hit single digits for the first time this winter last night! It is shaping up to be a beautiful day to come ski! Our 1.75 ish km is freshly groomed for both skate and classic this morning.
Please be aware that all skiing will be CLOSED to the public from Thursday, January 22nd at 11am until Sunday, January 25th at 1pm due to Super Qualifier Races.
Fairview
Fairview got a bit of snow Thursday and a bit more Thursday night. Looking more promising and wintery but definitely not enough snow to run equipment and pack snow. It is possible easy and careful striding, maybe skating, would be an option on the Fairways where the grass length is shortest. But do so with caution. I will ski elsewhere for the time being. One more good storm would potentially set us up but alas, I do not see it coming.
Solitude Nordic
All trails groomed for skate and classic except Cornucopia and Camp Loop. Another 6″ of new snow. 0° at 8am, high of 19°.
Community Day is today! The only thing better than skiing is skiing for free! Free trail passes, rentals, and all sorts of clinics. And we’re open til 5:30pm. More info on our website: www.solitudemountain.com/things-to-do/events-and-activities/nordic-center_community-day

Friday’s Haiku:
Crispy cold blue wax
Winter sheaths the trails today
Sun and smiles abound

Crispy cold this morning. It was 9 degrees at 7am. It’s almost winter like. We’ve groomed the 3km Community Loop first this morning with as much classic track as possible and then we’ll head to Armstrong and the 5km loop (packed but very thin in places) to see if the coverage is sufficient to open them.
Conditions will be firm and cold for skating this morning, classic skiing will be quite good all day. Please ski with awareness in the corners and under the trees as the trail remains thin in a couple areas. There are unmarked hazards here and there. The newly raised golf cart paths are unavoidable and we’re working to keep them hidden.
Definitely a blue wax day today. Our other ski trails remain closed for right now. We are OPEN 9-5 today with our XC in store clinic this afternoon. We are offering lessons, renting skis and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your trail pass and give us a smile on the way out to ski! Keep those snow dances going. Thursday Haiku:
Palpable ski stoke,
We’ve been waiting for so long,
Put your skis on now
We received just over 3 inches of snow overnight. We’ll be grooming the 3km Community Loop first this morning and then heading to Armstrong and the 5km loop to see if the coverage is sufficient to open them. Conditions will be soft for skating this morning, classic skiing will be quite good all day. Please ski with awareness in the corners and under the trees as the trail remains thin in areas. There is chance for more snow through mid day today so we’ll assess as the day progresses. There are unmarked hazards.
By far the best snow conditions we’ve had sheathing the tracks all season now. Our other ski trails remain closed for right now. Stay tuned. We are OPEN 9-5 today. We are giving lessons, renting skis and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your trail pass and give us a smile on the way out to ski! Keep those snow dances going. We are still taking suggestions for ceremonies and rituals to encourage the snow deities to release their fluffy gifts upon the trails.
A reminder, no walking, running, dog walking, sledding or other non-ski activities on the trails. It destroys hours of work and diminishes the ski experience for everyone.
Solitude Nordic
All trails groomed for skate and classic except Cornucopia and Camp Loop. Yes, our trails are all finally connected! Patience is a virtue and it will pay off with great skiing this week. 6″+ of new snow overnight, lightly snowing and 19° at 8am, high of 22° today.
Community Day is tomorrow! Free trail tickets, rentals, and intro to classic and skate skiing clinics. More info on our website: www.solitudemountain.com/things-to-do/events-and-activities/nordic-center_community-day
Solitude Nordic
Upper trails from the lake to the fire station groomed for skate and classic (Lake Loops, Silver Lake, Evergreen, Bypass, Cabin Fever). Redman loops were groomed yesterday. 23° at 9am, high of 27° today.
Hoping to get have everything open after tomorrow’s storm!
Community Day is this Friday 1/9. Free trail tickets, rentals, and intro to classic and skate skiing clinics. I’ll be teaching the intro classic lesson! More info on our website: www.solitudemountain.com/things-to-do/events-and-activities/nordic-center_community-day
Fairview
No, Fairview has no snow yet but the coming storm may change that. Hoping for enough snow to start grooming. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, several of us have been making trips to the N Skyline (9000′) the last 10 days just to get on snow. Skating was possible last week as well as classic- all on the ungroomed road (Skyline Drive N). Snowmobile traffic always a possibility. Monday’s storm delivered some new snow which made for spectacular classic skiing yesterday on skier-set tracks, and hopefully one more day of the same before the next storm rolls in. I will post if I find out grooming has happened, in which case the skating would also be excellent.
Soldier Hollow
Another good cold night, so we are continuing to blow lots of snow, so use caution early. Excellent surface this morning, more powdery than yesterday, so come enjoy the 1.5 km length! Think cold thoughts about the precipitation ahead!
