Jeremy Ranch

Good Morning!!

We received about 3 inches of new and wet snow in the overnight. Prior to the snow we received quite a bit of rain. Because of the rain, the trails are soaked with water and are in no shape to groom. We are going to remain closed today with the hopes of colder temps and more snow today and tonight. Feel free to contact the Nordic/Golf Shop with any questions. We will update conditions as soon as we receive more information from our grooming team.

Our “Spring into the Nordic/Golf Shop Sale” has begun. Come on in and enjoy 40% of all in stock Nordic items along with Golf apparel, hats and shoes. Sale will run through the month of March. Stop by today, have a look around and enjoy the discount!!

The snow dances are working and hopefully we get more accumulation in the next 24 hours!!

Thank you for your continued support of the JR Nordic Center.

Have a great day!!

The Wasatch Citizens Series distance skate race scheduled for Saturday at the Farm is canceled. We did not receive enough new snow to create a safe and sustainable trail on the Farm. Your season race pass or four completed race beanies will be available Saturday morning at 10am at the St. Mary’s Church Social Hall. We’ll have medals and a MEGA prize drawing for those who show up. Also we’ll have some pastries and we can hang out and commiserate for a while. We tried our best to try to make a suitable course, but everything depended on the snowfall on the warm wet ground. Bring a warm beverage of your choice and we can socialize for a while.

We strongly recommend stopping in the shop BEFORE you head out on the trails when we have these extreme Spring conditions. If you head out and assume you know the conditions, you could be quite surprised. We want you to have a great ski experience every day and we’re doing our best every day to try to make it happen. Everyone ski safe and aware!

“A Tale of Two Winters” It was the best of times, it was the worst of times as we get whipsawed between winter and spring several times each week since November. We received 5 inches of wet snow overnight! We are grooming and track setting the 3km and Armstrong loops. We’ll roll the 5km trail and check our options to see if we can reopen it. There were significant wet and grassy patches on the 5km before the storm. Skiing will be a bit slow this morning but firming up over the day. The surface with the fresh groom will be creamy and soft this morning We did have some icy patches and slushy areas under the new snow so keep your eyes open and look forward. It will be another great day for snowshoeing if the skiing isn’t speaking to you and you still need to get outside. We’ll lay out some fresh corduroy on the surface and have the tracks in shape for you. Please check in or check the report later for any updates. The Dog Loop, 5k and Farm are CLOSED and not recommended for skiing until we change their status. Keep an eye out for the low bush, grassy and icy or wet patches lurking under the surface out there. Skiing should be best from about 9 until 5 today. Wax will be red for skate and classic today. Well waxed fish scales or skin skis for classic would be a great option. Be aware of icy patches near the trail, in the parking lot and walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. As you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a much needed break from the news cycle we’re here for you every day. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a wax massage and aromatherapy treatment so they’ll be ready for weeks of spring skiing. Spread Joy out on the trail, breathe some fresh air, rejoice in the fresh snow, be safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our incredible ski community and reading so patiently into our Dickensian long-form trail report. Looking forward to some really good spring conditions in the next few days! Maybe the snow bunnies will come back out. Drop in the store to say hi, shop the sale and visit for a few minutes. Everyone be safe.

Our spring sale is underway! All skis, boots, poles and clothing 30% off marked prices. High performance waxes (except Toko Jet) and iron-in waxes are 40% off. All sales are final. No returns or refunds. Limited to stock on hand. Get in and gear up now!

It’s looking like there’s a good chance we’ll be able to lay down some track on Friday morning. Check back here and you’ll be the first to know about what we can make happen. 😃

Good Morning!!

With the warmer temperatures over the past few days, it has forced us to close the entire trail system here at Jeremy Ranch. We are monitoring the snow levels daily with the hopes of receiving enough to reopen portions of our trails later in the week. Feel free to reach out to the Nordic/Golf Shop with any questions. We will update our report as soon as we have any new information.

Get those snow dancing shoes out! We’re really hoping this one comes in strong. We’ll be doing a very light groom of the 3km, Practice loop and Armstrong this morning. It’s a bit crusty this morning, the the surface will improve as the morning sun comes out and the air warms up a bit. Skiing will be slow, but pretty good given what we have to work with. The surface under the fresh groom will still be quite hard, so ski with awareness. We did have some icy patches and slushy areas pop back up yesterday so keep your eyes open and look forward. It will be another great day for snowshoeing if the skiing isn’t speaking to you and you still need to get outside. We’ll smooth out the surface and have the skate track in shape for you. We’ll be making light passes on the 3k and Armstrong to see how the classic track surface comes up. Please check in or check the report later for any updates. The Dog Loop, 5k, practice loop and Farm are CLOSED and not recommended for skiing until we get some more snow. Keep an eye out for the bush, grassy and icy or wet patches out there. Crust cruising will be worth a try this morning but it will start to crumble quickly. There are thin spots lurking around so be aware and watch for any rocks, black ice, clear ice, grass and pavement. Skiing should be best from about 9:30 until about 2 today.
We can’t control the weather but we are crossing our fingers, toes, arms and legs, but not our ski tips in the hope of some new snow coming tonight. “Wax” will be best with waxed fish scales or skin skis for classic. Violet/red for glide over the day. Be aware of icy patches on the trail, in the parking lot and walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. As you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a much needed break from the news cycle we’re here for you every day. It will be a great day to drop off your skis for a restoring wax and aromatherapy treatment so they’ll be ready for more spring skiing after the storm. Spread Joy out on the trail, breathe some fresh air, be safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our incredible ski community and reading so patiently into our long-form trail report. Looking forward to some changing conditions in the next few days! Drop in the store to say hi, shop the sale and visit for a few minutes. Everyone be safe. If we get some more good snow later tonight, we’ll be jumping for Joy!

We’ll be making a call late Wednesday on the planned Wasatch Citizens Series distance skate race scheduled for Saturday and the viability of the Western Youth Club Championships scheduled this weekend at the Farm. Stay tuned. Your beanies for your season race pass or four completed race are available at the White Pine Nordic Center. It is likely there will be a modified shorter loop given the conditions. Stay tuned for updates after the storm. Registration deadline will still be Thursday at midnight.

A little refresh of snow overnight. Rolled all of Spruces and dragged Jordan Pines. More snow in the near future.

Please have patience, our ability to groom Spruces is reduced.

Hope springs eternal. We ended up with about 1.5 inches of fresh wet snow to cover up the skating rink we had yesterday morning. A soft latte foam texture awaits your skis. We’ll be doing a very light groom of the 3km, Practice loop and Armstrong. Skiing will be slow, but definitely better than yesterday. The surface under the fresh snow will still be quite hard, so ski with awareness. It will be another great day for snowshoeing if the skiing isn’t your vibe today. Fluff on crust cruising might be worth a try this morning. There are thin spots lurking around so be aware and watch for any rocks, black ice, clear ice, grass and pavement. We are not able to refresh any classic track at this time. Skiing should be best from about 10 until about 3.
