A wintery morning for certain! Enjoy that steamy mug before you head out. Gently falling snow, a fresh breeze and freshly groomed trails is the forecast for the day. Cold overnight, you’ll glide best with blue wax today. There was a lot of drifting last night, and the snowcat is out with Scott at the controls making everything all pretty and corduroy. Fresh skate and classic on the 5k, 3k, Dog Loop and the Farm. Armstrong will be groomed later today, the curves are a little tight. Conditions can be described as zen garden corduroy with chance of slight drifting until the wind settles. The dog loop is open and running wildly through the field. The Farm is open and groomed for the weekend. There was a lot of drifting at the Farm overnight and the wind may continue for a while this morning. Plan on a little expedition skiing and bundle up if you’re out early.

The Farm is a fee area for skiing. No walking, dogs, running, cycling or trespassing on the trails. Park in the new Meadows trailhead lot or better yet, ski the entire loop from the Nordic Center. Our new snowcat arrived and has been prowling the trails. Keep an eye out for it. Ski with caution on the Farm on that corduroy. Conditions remain thin in places and a high speed mistake will have consequences.

Classic skiing will be so very good today and skate will be slow to start, quite good and getting better as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always helpful if it gets sticky late in the day. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option if blue hard wax isn’t your game. Bring your partners, friends and neighbors along to play and if you need to take a mid-day “therapy” break we’ll write you an excusal note. Drop off your skis when you’re finished for a well deserved overnight spa treatment. Please purchase AND display your trail pass to access our trails. Ski Joyfully, share the trail, lean into the curves, glide smoothly and take a couple of good laps on our beautiful winter trails! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and supporting long-form free verse. Now grab that beanie, your buff, your good gloves and head outside to play!

A special thank you to Prinoth for delivering a shiny new Husky Snowcat for us to use this winter. If you enjoy what we’re providing, be sure to tell your local city officials how great it is to have such an incredible long-term community partnership between PC and White Pine Touring. We’ve been making trails on the golf course and beyond for 47 years.

We’ll see lots of sun early today and temperatures around 32 degrees this afternoon. We’re grooming the 3k, 5k, Armstrong and the Dog Loop with classic and resurfaced skate lanes. Groomed to the top for skate and classic beginning at 4:30 p.m. The skate track cleaned up nicely and was firm. The classic was good at the bottom and got better above the restroom. With only a couple of skiers on it when we left and a nice freeze tonight, the skiing tomorrow should be very good. Enjoy.

We’re grooming the 3k, 5k, Armstrong and the Dog Loop with classic and resurfaced skate lanes. The dog loop is open and running quickly through the field. Main, Mitten, Boomerang and Lollipop all were groomed for skate this evening. The classic is holding up well on Main, Mitten and Boomer. Nice crunchy cold snow. It should ski really well tomorrow. THINK SNOW!

The ropes across the entry to some trails are our way of warning you that bare grass, bare pavement or some other hazard is present and that we are not currently maintaining that trail. Your choice, but if you choose to duck the rope, know that you run the risk of damage to your gear and injury to yourself.
