Monday Grooming Report from Jerry and Tim

At 6;00 PM Sunday, Main, Mitten, Kid’s Cutoff, Wiggleroom, Boomerang, and Lollitop were groomed for skate and classic. The temperature was in the high 20″s so the tracks should firm up by morning. The skiing should be very good Monday. enjoy.

The upper loops were groomed this morning for skate and classic. Conditions are beautiful! The lower trails were groomed for skate, but not classic. Clearing snow from the parking lot has left a significant mogul field on the connector from the pavilion to the lower trails. Be VERY careful if you use the connector. But once you get the the lower Nursery/Count Max’s trails conditions are wonderful.

The groom to the top on Friday night is holding up very well due to the hard freezes and cool daytime temperatures. The classic lane is still crisp, the skate lane not carved too deeply, and there are few walker tracks. Even the snowmobiles have stayed to the far right. Perhaps the new signs are working. Thank you! At any rate, go ski a beautiful place before some sort of spectator-sport party this afternoon.

Good Morning,

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! It is another cold blue bird day. We groomed for both skate and classic on the upper and lower track. Both tracks groomed up really well, and are skiing firm and fast. They should hold up that way all day with the colder temperatures.

The Nordic Center will close at 3:00 P.M. today.

Have a great day,

Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center

Soldier Hollow

It is currently 5 F and sunny. The wind is expected to make temperatures feel more frigid today, so be prepared for some cold. The high for today is 34 and it is expected to stay sunny throughout the day. Nearly all trails were groomed late last night so they should be nice and set this morning. Conditions should be fairly good for the next few days.

Greg and Oliver refreshed skate and classic on Main, Mitten, Boomerang, Wiggle Room and the top of Lollipop on Saturday night. Coverage is good in these places and skiing was outstanding on Saturday. Should be the same today. The Lollipop handle remains closed, and you are likely to hit thinly covered pavement in unexpected places if you venture past the ropes closing this segment. Enjoy a bluebird day at Mtn Dell!

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Main, Mitten, Boomerang, Wiggle Room, and the “Lolli-top” were groomed for skate and classic last night. Should be firm and fast out there today. Get out there before the game.

The Soldier Hollow Grand Tour race is taking place today starting at 10am. Many trails will be used for the race, however there will be no trail closures. Nearly all trails have been groomed within the last day and they have been skiing very nicely. The new snow is firming up to make for great skiing. The wind is expected to make it feel a little colder than it is so be prepared for chillier temperatures than we have been having recently.

Skate and classic set to Big Mountain.
Both should ski well tomorrow. (Well, I think the classic will. Did most of that in the dark with inoperable grooming light.)
Good freeze tonight 16 degrees when we finished.
Still a little thin for a wee bit. Coverage gets good after a short ski.
