Its almost a heat wave today! 17 degrees before sunrise on the trail. Cold snow and some morning sunshine make a great combination to quench your thirst for fun. Maybe some clouds and fresh snow coming later! All 22km of trails were groomed overnight by Steven and Scott and are open for skiing today. Enjoy a steamy mug before you head out with your boot covers, best mittens, beanie and buff. We have miles of cold firm classic track and resurfaced corduroy this morning to start the day. You’ll glide best with green or blue wax and iron-in cold powder again today. Grip wax will be green turning to blue today. The dog loop is open and running happily through the field (cover up those paws again today).
The Farm is a fee area for skiing. No walking, dogs, running, cycling or trespassing on the trails. Park in the new Meadows Drive trailhead lot or better yet, ski the entire loop from the Nordic Center.
Classic skiing will be very good today and skate will be a little slow to start it you’re not waxed, and quite good as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always a good idea. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option if hard wax isn’t your jam. Bring your family, friends and neighbors along to play on the snow and if you need to take a mid-day “physical and/or mental therapy” break we’ve got a trail for you. Drop off your skis when you’re finished for a refreshing overnight spa treatment. Please purchase AND display your trail pass to access our trails. Take some laps with Joy, share the trail with everyone and glide smoothly along the hills and valleys! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and supporting long form trail reports. Grab that beanie, your buff, your good gloves, snug up those laces and bindings and go play!
