17 degrees and some light snow on the trail this morning. Cold snow and fresh frosting on top make a great combination for your ski day. We’ll be regrooming the 3k and 5k this morning then waiting to see how the storm plays out before we do the rest. All 22km of trails are open for skiing today. Enjoy a steamy mug before you head out with your mittens, beanie and buff. We have miles of cold firm classic track and skate lanes this morning with a fresh cover on top to start your day. You’ll glide best with blue wax and iron-in cold powder again today. Grip wax will be blue today. The dog loop is open and running happily through the field (cover up those paws again today). The Farm is a fee area for skiing. No walking, dogs, running, cycling or trespassing on the trails. Park in the new Meadows Drive trailhead lot or better yet, ski the entire loop from the Nordic Center. Classic skiing will be very good today and skate will be a little slow to start it you’re not waxed, and quite good as the day goes on. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) is always a good idea. Skin skis are an exceptional no-fuss classic option if hard wax isn’t your jam.
Bring your family, friends and neighbors along to play on the snow and if you need to take a mid-day “physical and/or mental therapy” break we’ve got a trail for you. Drop off your skis when you’re finished for a refreshing overnight spa treatment. Please purchase AND display your trail pass to access our trails. Take some laps with Joy, share the trail with everyone and glide smoothly along the hills and valleys! Thank you for being part of our amazing community and supporting long form trail reports. Grab that beanie, your buff, your good gloves, tighten up those laces and bindings and go play outside!
