Another very warm Spring day. We’ll have warming temperatures through the day approaching 60 degrees by late afternoon. Best skiing will be from about 10 until 12. After mid-day, the magic 8 ball said “Don’t count on it.” It will get quite sloppy out and skating will leave deep ruts. We recommend classic skiing late in the day to help preserve the trails. We’re smoothing the 3km and Armstrong today. The classic tracks were reset yesterday where possible so they’ll be a bit icy early then softer after mid-morning. There are a couple growing gaps in the trail due to the thin coverage and heat. If you see grass in front of you, please slow down and work your way safely around. Skiing will be crunchy and firm early, but quickly transforming into slurpee consistency.
The 3km, Practice Loop and Armstrong trails will be open today. Trails will be crunchy icy early for skating with glaze in the tracks for classic. There are icy patches, grassy patches, exposed pavement and wet areas lurking under snow and near the trail so keep your eyes open, stay alert and ski safely.
Wax will be the rainbow again today with violet/red/yellow with structure for both kick and glide depending on what time of day you ski. It will get sticky for a while today as the air warms, so polishing, spraying, dripping and ironing some fresh wax on the tips and tails of your skis will definitely maximize your Joy.
We continue to offer our “get outside and unplug” services daily through Thursday. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a hot wax spa session to keep you gliding or an enriching storage wax if you’re done for the season. Grab your SPF30+, tug on your thinnest gloves, grab your beachwear for the heat wave, keep an eye out for bunnies, ermine, birds and other wildlife, ski safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our incredible community center and for coming out to play with us during this wild “spring skiing all winter” season. Drop in the store to say hello, shop the sale and visit for a bit. Everyone ski safe and grab some winter fun while you can!
If you completed three Wasatch Citizens Series races or were a race season pass holder and you haven’t picked it up yet, your WCS beanie is available at the White Pine Touring Nordic Center. Drop in and pick it up before 3/27!

We knew it had to happen eventually… We will be closing for the season at 5:00pm on Thursday March 27th. It’s been a crazy season for weather, but we’ve managed to stay open for skiing all but two days since December 2nd. We’d like to thank each and every one of you who visited us this season. We have the best customers, friends and neighbors in our ski community and you are all truly the best part of the work for our nearly 50 Nordic Center employees. We spend the winter as a big family helping you learn new skills, taking care of your skis and providing you with some incredible ski trails. Thank you for spending the winter with us and we’ll plan on being back and seeing you on November 22nd for the start of the 25-26 Winter Season!
