Our Comp program (U16 – U18) has grown and we will need an assistant for the 2026-2027 season. It is a part-time, hourly position from November to March, with the possibility of more hours in the summer.
We are a small (but getting bigger) community team with a long tradition. Our skiers, coaches, and parents are part of the team. We aim to make fast skiers, but accept all skiers with the hope we can help them reach their potential in the sport of cross-country skiing.
The ideal assistant will:
- Love working with kids, meeting them where they are
- Set the example of teamwork, sportsmanship, character, and athleticism
- Operate with joy and integrity
- Work well with a coaching team
- Have a USSS Level 100 Certification (we can assist with this)
- Knowledge of ski waxing, glide and kick, testing skis
Responsibilities will include
- Assisting or running 2-4 daily practices for U16-U18 (and sometimes combining with the U12-U14)
- Available for approximately 5 away weekends and four to five home races
- Assist with race waxing prior to races
- Help with parent involvement and education
- Support the head coach with athlete training programs
