Our Junior Ski Team has grown, and we will need an additional coach for the 2026-2027 season. It is a part-time, hourly position from November to March, with the possibility of more hours in the summer.
We are a small (but getting bigger) community team with a long tradition. Our skiers, coaches, and parents are part of the team. We aim to make fast skiers, but accept all skiers with the hope we can help them reach their potential in the sport of cross-country skiing.
The ideal coach will:
- Love working with kids, meeting them where they are
- Set the example of teamwork, sportsmanship, character, and athleticism
- Operate with joy and integrity
- Work well with a coaching team
- Have a USSS Level 100 Certification (we can assist with this)
- Knowledge of ski waxing, glide and kick, testing skis
Responsibilities will include
- Assisting or running 2-4 practices per week for skiers aged 11 (with experience) and up to the U18/U20 Comp level
- Available for 5 away weekends for IMD Junior National Qualifiers and four to five home races
- Assist with race waxing prior to races
- Help with parent involvement and education
- Support the head coach with athlete training
