Happy Daylight Savings time day 2! Have a second cup of your favorite morning beverage while you contemplate that one hour time change in the morning darkness. Prime skiing has shifted to about 11am to 3pm. Moderate and increasing warming temperatures today after a fairly warm overnight will make for a firm spicy track early and then softening conditions the rest of the day for skate and classic. The breeze and cloud cover may make it soft mid-morning and very soft later in the afternoon. We’re grooming the 3km, 5km and Armstrong trails first today. All trails are open. The dog loop and farm will get a little touchup early afternoon when the snowcat arrives from it’s service day. Blue wax this morning, red/blue or violet later in the afternoon. Possibly yellow if the breeze stays low and the air stays warm. The skiing will pick up mid-morning as the tracks get skied in and the sun (maybe) comes out.
It will be another Joyful and beautiful day to be out playing in the snow. Be aware, be mindful and ski within your abilities. PLEASE ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play in the snow and drop in to the shop to say hi and check out the deals. The snow bunnies and ducks will be out and about and some wading birds are starting to arrive.
