White Pine

Cold overnight and snowing this morning. A snow globe experience to start the day! We received another 4 inches of snow yesterday afternoon and a bit more this morning. A beautiful winter morning with cold temperatures. Snowing at 7 but it should stop later in the day. We’re rolling and packing the 3 and 5km trails first, then we’ll go down to towards farm after the core trails are done. The skate and classic track will be soft and smooth with the new snow. All trails are open, but grooming focus will be on the core near the nordic center first. Blue or Violet wax today. The skiing won’t be fast, but it will be beautiful out.

It is Winter again. Watch for icy sidewalks and use the handrails on the stairs! Please drive safely, walk with care in your ski boots and ski with Joy! Purchase your pass and wear it please. Be aware, be careful and ski within your abilities. PLEASE ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play in the snow, drop in the shop to say hi. The ducks and snow bunnies will be out later today. Let’s put in a plug for all the hardworking people who spend hours making your ski experience wonderful. Please have a Joyful, wintery and adventurous ski day!

We’lll see you on the trails! (remaining ski boots are on sale)

Mountain Dell groomed Sunday evening, all loops other than World Cup groomed and open. Skate only on the Lower Loop below Cullen’s Cutoff, otherwise everything is groomed for both skate and classic.

Mountain Dell

Main, Mitten, Lower to Cullens, “Lollitop”, Park Road Bypass, Kids Cutoff, Wiggle Room and Boomerang were all groomed for skate and classic today. We got somewhere between 6 and 12+ inches, so hopefully this will buy us another week or two of skiing! The wind was picking up a little as we were wrapping up but the skiing should be pretty good, so go put on your face buff and get on out there! Oliver & Greg

By Sunday morning we got about 14″ of Wasatch Finest. Practice, Upper, and Pavilion Loops are groomed for skate and classic. Skate will be a little soft but very forgiving. Classic is beautiful! There is a blow-down tree blocking machine access to the lower loops – Nursery and Count Max’s. You can walk/ski around it but those lower trails are not groomed — fantastic opportunity to get in some trail-breaking in fresh powder.

White Pine

Quite a storm! We had about one foot of new dense snow overnight. A beautiful winter morning with moderate cold temperatures. Snowing lightly at 7 but it should stop before 9 and then intermittent during the day. Come ski in the snow globe! We’re grooming the 3 and 5km trails first, then we’ll take the snowcat down to the farm after the core trails are done. It’s possible it will get a bit breezy later so skiing early may be a good decision. The skate and classic track will be soft and in great shape. All trails are open, but grooming focus will be on the core near the nordic center first. Occasional snow is expected during the day with another few inches. Ski with awareness. The 3k and 5k will be ready first, the Dog Loop, Farm and Armstrong will be groomed next. Red/Blue or Violet wax today.

Please drive safely, walk with care in your ski boots and ski with Joy! Purchase your pass and wear it please. Be aware, be careful and ski within your abilities. PLEASE ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike, ski in or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play in the snow, drop in the shop to check the new gear. The ducks and snow bunnies will be out today. Let’s put in a plug for all the hardworking people who spend hours making your ski experience wonderful. Please have a Joyful, wintery and adventurous ski day!

Got out and groomed the Spruces Loops and Jordan Pines this morning. There is some debris on the trail from the wind, and we did have to clear a tree off of the lower Spruces Loop. Snow is expected in the canyon, so conditions will likely change by the afternoon, but should be good until the storm really hits. On the sushi scale: Cucumber Roll

Weather and Conditions: It is currently 36 F and is cloudy and windy!! The storm is approaching, with winds expected to be up to 20mph with gusts up to 47 mph.  there will be on an off precipitation and a high of 41F.
Ski Trail Conditions:  With the high temperatures the last few days the snow has been melting. There may be a few areas that are thin and icy on the natural trails. Our machine made snow (7k)  is still in great condition. however, with the warmer snow the tracks set probably will not hold up through out the day.

Nordic Trail Conditions

White Pine

A blustery warm morning to start the day. A gusty warm morning leading in to the storm arriving mid morning. It will definitely be better to get out early. Adventure skiing will be the order today. It will be gusty and warm today. Heading for a high temperature near 50 and predicted wind gusts near 60 mph as the storm arrives. Temperatures will drop quickly as the front comes through. There will be an array of pinecones and twigs on the trail so ski with awareness and care. Help us by coming out to rake sticks off the trail so they won’t get ground into the trail by the snowcat. The skate and classic track is soft but will glaze quickly. It will be a little sticky with the wind and warming temperatures for classic and skate. All trails are open, but grooming focus will be on the core near the nordic center as the storm comes in. Heavy snow is expected during the day and the NWS has predicted 60mph gusts and possible thunderstorm snow. Watch for icy, sticky or wind scrubbed patches. Ski with awareness.

The 3k and 5k will be ready first around 9:30 given the weather…, the Dog Loop, Farm and Armstrong will be groomed next if conditions allow. Red wax and structure today. Come play in the snow, drop in the shop when the storm arrives to check the new gear. The ducks and snow bunnies will be lying low today. Please have a Joyful, blustery and adventurous ski day!

If you’re reading this far into the report again, Thank you! Here is your reward for reading. All nordic ski boots are 30% off marked price. Selection is limited to stock on hand, no special orders. We also just received a new small order of fish-scale skis including a few partial metal edge Rossignol OT. The skis are not discounted, but if you hurry, we have your size in stock again. It’s a good day to buy gear and watch the storm from inside.

Good Morning,

Both the upper and lower tracks have been groomed for skate. The classic tracks were reset on both the upper and lower tracks. There are a couple of thin spots in the classic lane on the upper track and they have been marked with cones. Please ski with caution around these areas. It looks like more snow is on the way for the weekend!

Welcome to March!
