Good morning. 26°F at 0800. No new snow (yet?). New Sensation and the bridge connector near the village are done for the year. Everything else is groomed for skate and classic. Watch for thin areas under the trees and some low spots in the skate lane. Good skiing!

Well, that’s a wrap folks! We groomed for the last time this season today. Conditions are a bit rough, will be better as the snow warms up. You can ski the Upper Loop without taking your skis off, but probably not for too much longer! Get out and take one more lap around before you put your skis away. THANK YOU to everyone who came out to ski this year, you guys made all the work worth it! THANK YOU to all the volunteer groomers who helped us all season long. I hope to see everybody back up at Spruces next winter! We’re going to have maps, trails signs, and some interpretive history signs next year, so be sure to come check it out! Hope it was a fun season, reach out to me if you have questions or comments about the trail. Have a great summer!

Overall this morning skate will be good and classic is spotty. The morning the track will stay in tact until it warms up like usual. We are still planning on grooming every day until the 18th if condition allow. Enjoy!

Spruces scuffed up this morning. Milt’s and the Pavilion Loops are good, the rest took a beating from the sun and foot traffic. Decent skiing but be careful!

Amazing snow conditions today. Classic and skate turned out great today and one of the better days of the year to ski. With warmer temps coming in the afternoon, the morning and early afternoon should be best for ski. Tomorrow should be great skiing as well.

Fresh snow at Spruces! About 4-5″. We groomed the Upper Loop, Practice Loop, and Pavilion Loops this morning. No pavement showing at all. It was still snowing as we left, so if you head up it will likely be fresh snow on top of our groom. Come get some last laps in at Spruces and enjoy the new snow!

All SNC trails groomed for clsssic and skate skiing. Fully transformed snow, and warm temperatures gives you a perfect opportunity to use that klister at the bottom of your wax box you bought 9 years ago and never use.

Solitude Nordic

Conditions this morning are very good and all trails except New Sensation are groomed for skate and classic skiing. NS is groomed for skating, but you can make your own classic tracks. Get it while you can. 39° @ 0815

THANK YOU SHOVELERS!! Thanks to everyone who came out today to shovel snow onto the thin spots. The Upper Loop is now 100% snow covered – no pavement showing! Get out there guys while the snow lasts! On the north side of the upper loop, take the “Larch Tree” cutoff to avoid the thin spot there. Did I mention I set classic track as well? Yes! Classic all around the upper loop – but be a bit careful – in one spot, the setter got away from me and the track makes a funny squiggle – oops. Just a reminder, the lower loop is no longer groomed – but I did groom the practice loop and the pavilion loops. Great skiing, I groomed in a t-shirt. The only question is: are you tough enough to ski slush?

We groomed today – well, we skuffed up the ice as best we could and got a little corduroy down. There might be some snowmobile tracks leftover. Should be nice skiing as the snow warms up. We are done grooming the lower loop for the year – but we’ll be grooming the upper loop for another week or so! If you’d like to help out, we have a volunteer day tomorrow, 4/3, at 8:00am to shovel snow onto the thin spots of the upper loop! This might let us get another week or two out of the season. Please bring your own mask and gloves if you do come. I am planning to groom next week, 4/6 and 4/9, and then probably calling it quits for the season. Thanks!
