Fairview received only a light snowfall in the most recent storm- less than northern Utah. Not enough to groom at this point. Fingers crossed that more is on the way.

Welcome to winter! Spruces cross-country ski trails were snowmobile packed yesterday aftetnoon and this morning. Classic skiing will be the best bet, but keep in mind this is the first significant snow this season. So, there are no classic tracks, skating will be challenging and the tracks will be a little rough and very thin in spots. The immediate future looks much better, and skiing here will be a lot better in a few days. We will update this report tomorrow.

Mountain Dell

First of all, THANK YOU! By staying off the course yesterday you gave the groomers time and space to create the track you know and love.

FRIDAY: The pavement is very thin and nothing is groomed today while the groomers wait for the moisture to leave the snow. The grooming team may be working to pack and manage snow today to get ready to groom. Skating will certainly get down to grass (or pavement) and get you that long-awaited ski grind. Better to have that done at a shop!

SATURDAY: Maybe…that depends on what falls today.

THANK YOU ALL for your patience. As Tom Petty said, “The waiting is the hardest part.” We’ll be skiing soon!

Mountain Dell

LATEST REPORT – Our Grooming Ops have been assessing conditions as they change. Currently, Mountain Dell has received one or two inches of the fluffy stuff. Currently, there isn’t enough to groom, which means if you try and ski, you’ll get a free ski grind on the pavement. In other words, still not yet! If your urge to ski is too strong, perhaps go check out a local park that has grass.

PLEASE NOTE – if you try and ski right now, it will actually leave less material for the groomers to work with as it snows more. So be patient, grasshoppers, we will get there. We’re all pretty starved right now, but if we wait a little longer, the track will be able to be set up properly, and with any luck we will be skiing on this snow until the next snow.

White Pine

Not really a grooming report, but we are planning to open on November 20th for the season. Weather conditions may change that, but for now that’s the target. If you insist on cruising the golf course, please stay off the tees and greens! There is golf equipment still out there and you can easily cut into the grass and the many unmarked hazards. Use your thinking parts, there’s no need to end your season before it starts.

Surprise grooming today. Groomed and set track this morning. Good coverage from Trailhead to Big Water. Get out before the sun hits the trail.

There are thin areas of snow and once it warms up bare spots will be prevalent.

Great skiing today for classic. Skate should be doable for another hour before the new snowfall gets too deep. Expect 6 inches of new snow on the track today.

Solitude Nordic

Good morning. 26°F at 0800. No new snow (yet?). New Sensation and the bridge connector near the village are done for the year. Everything else is groomed for skate and classic. Watch for thin areas under the trees and some low spots in the skate lane. Good skiing!

Solitude Nordic

Good morning! 22°F at 0825. Transformed snow and FAST- until it warms up and gets wet. All trails groomed for skate and classic. Be VERY careful on all down hills, especially New Sensation. Snow in the forecast! Don’t put ’em away just yet.

Solitude Nordic

30°F at 0800. No new snow. Fully transformed crystals on most trails. Good skiing with spring conditions. All trails groomed for classic and skating. A few thin spots under the trees and low spots in the skate lane.

Well, that’s a wrap folks! We groomed for the last time this season today. Conditions are a bit rough, will be better as the snow warms up. You can ski the Upper Loop without taking your skis off, but probably not for too much longer! Get out and take one more lap around before you put your skis away. THANK YOU to everyone who came out to ski this year, you guys made all the work worth it! THANK YOU to all the volunteer groomers who helped us all season long. I hope to see everybody back up at Spruces next winter! We’re going to have maps, trails signs, and some interpretive history signs next year, so be sure to come check it out! Hope it was a fun season, reach out to me if you have questions or comments about the trail. Have a great summer!

Overall this morning skate will be good and classic is spotty. The morning the track will stay in tact until it warms up like usual. We are still planning on grooming every day until the 18th if condition allow. Enjoy!
