Not so much a grooming report as a skiing report. We did not get very cold last night but the track is firm enough still to have good skating. Classic tracks are still very rough. Not worth my time today to groom but skating is still fine. Ski earlier rather than later when it will get soft. Use your fog lights and deer whistles!

Good Morning,

Another warm day at Jeremy, and the sun is trying to peak its head out. Both the upper and lower track groomed up really well for skate. The upper track classic lanes have been reset. The bottom track lanes are still holding up real well. With the below freezing temperatures last night the track is firm, but will become soft through out the day due to warmer weather.

Have a Great Day!

Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center

Soldier Hollow

Our 10.5k of manmade snow-covered trails are groomed for today. The snow is taking a light set but the trails have not taken a deep freeze yet. Use caution, especially if you come earlier in the day or on ungroomed trails, as they could be icy. The trails will continue to soften throughout the day so come around noon or early afternoon for best conditions.

White Pine

We are back to spring skiing. Be cautious and ski with awareness early. Watch for icy patches on walkways, parking lots and elsewhere. Remember you have ski boots on! Very warm temperatures yesterday and cold overnight means a crusty fast track early. We’ll scratch up the surface this morning to crumble the crust for a nice skating surface as the day goes on. Not as warm today so the classic track will be quite firm all day. That means a glaze on the surface will make for fast and at times quite spicy classic this early this morning. As the sun comes out (maybe) and it warms up, classic will soften up and get better as the day goes on. Afternoon temperatures will be cooler today. Conditions may get sticky later in the day with the humidity. The 5km, 3km and Armstrong loops will be groomed and track set today. The Farm and dog loop were groomed and track set midday yesterday. Come share the Joy of skiing! Red and structure is the call today again. We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. Please ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips helps! Go play in the snow, make a snow angel or snowperson off the trail, share the Joy and enjoy what is shaping up to be another spring skiing day!

Bandanas Cafe at the Hotel Park City across the hall from us is now open until 8pm daily for your after-ski beverages, pizza and pasta. Now you can ski until sundown and then have a relaxing place for dinner and beverages while you’re waiting for traffic to clear!

A challenging weather pattern with a bit of rain the last few days and warm temps. Below freezing last night so I groomed early this morning to try to create some loose snow on crusty trails. Three passes on the skate lane appear to have a great skate surface: enjoy! The classic track, however, is beat up and frozen so hard to re-set….classic skiing may have to wait until we get more new snow to work with.

Good Morning,

Another cloudy warm day is upon us. We have groomed both the upper and lower track for skate. The classic was reset on all 7km of trails yesterday afternoon. Conditions will be soft due to the warmer temperatures, but the track is still in awesome shape. Another great day to do some Nordic Skiing!

Have a great day!

We groomed our core trails.  Use caution, especially if you come earlier in the day or on ungroomed trails, as they could be icy.  The trails will continue to soften throughout the day so come around noon or early afternoon for best conditions.

Mountain Dell

All loops, except the Lower, which remains closed, were groomed for skate and classic skiing Monday evening. Warmer temps and some rain over the weekend have opened up some thin spots, but the track generally remains in good condition. Air temps do not appear to have dropped below freezing Monday night, so the firmest conditions will be in the morning hours Tuesday. Come up and enjoy some sliding at Mountain Dell!

And… We are back to spring skiing. We reset classic track on the 5k and 3k yesterday late afternoon. The heat scrubbed a lot out and we set it so it would be good for today. That means a glaze on the surface will make for fast skating and classic this morning early. As the sun comes out (maybe) and it warms up (definitely), classic will soften up and get better and better as the day goes on. Afternoon temperatures will be well above freezing again. Cold and humid overnight and the track is grooming well for skate and classic. Conditions might get sticky later in the day with the humidity and warm air. The 5km, 3km and Armstrong loops will be groomed and track set today. The Farm and dog loop will be touched up afterwards. Come share the Joy of skiing!
Red or even yellow wax and structure is the call today with the higher humidity and warmer temperatures again. We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. Please ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips helps! Go play in the snow, make a snow angel off the trail, share the Joy and enjoy what is shaping up to be another spring skiing day!

Great News Skiers! Bandanas Cafe at the Hotel Park City across the hall from us is now open until 8pm daily for your after-ski beverages, delicious pizza and pasta. Now you can ski until sundown and then have a relaxing place to snack while you’re waiting for traffic on the highway to thin out!

If your skis are slow it’s definitely time to wax. White Pine Touring Nordic Center is a Flouro Free zone. No HF, LF or PFC waxes are allowed by county ordinance and common sense. If you have old Flouro waxes bring them in to the recycling bin in the shop and we’ll give you 25% off Flouro Free high performance replacement sprays and hard waxes. Let’s do our part to maintain drinking water quality and health.

East Canyon Hwy/SR 65 groomed for skate to the top (5.3 mi/8.5 k). Attempted reset of classic went poorly, so user-maintained track left as is, including some sections erased by recreational snowmobile traffic over the weekend.

Mountain Dell groomed Monday morning, January 22. Given the firmness of the conditions at this time only the skate lane has been reset – a second attempt will be made at resetting the classic track mid-day Monday once it has softened a bit. The existing track is still in place but is glazed. Main, Mitten, Creek, Lollipop, Wiggle Room, Boomerang, Kid’s Cutoff, and the park road bypass were all groomed.
