The Yurt is Amazing Anytime of the Year!
Each year we have to do a little work to ensure everyone has an amazing experience on their winter adventure. This includes some cleaning, splitting and stacking wood, and the odd fix-it or improvement task. The yurt can be hard to book because of its popularity… The work trip is a great chance to get in the lottery for a coveted front-of-the-line spot for bookings. We will also hold a certification session at the end of the day (a requirement for anyone planning a trip), so come up and kill two birds with one stone!
We will also be offering a stand-alone certification session on October 4th.
Sunday September 14th: Work party
Work party:
- Arrive at the Norway Flats road at 8:00 am. All volunteers will be entered in a lottery for 10 early reservation slots for the yurt.
- Bring work attire, gloves, splitting axes, chain saws, wheelbarrows, water, snacks, and a can-do attitude!
Saturday October 4th: Certification Session
- Arrive at the Norway Flats road at 8:00am
- You MUST email yurt@utahnordic.org to sign up
Certification Just Got Easier!
For those who can’t attend a group certification session, we now offer private (paid) certification options. Simply request this service during the reservation process and we will get you a guided trip to the yurt to complete a certification session for your group.

Utah Fit Check! Ski Suits
Look as fast as you are this year in your own TUNA race suit. You can order a two-piece, warmups, and new this year, a one-piece full ski suit from Podiumwear. Ordering window closes on October 5th, 2025 at 10:59 MST. Youth size suits are coming. Everything should arrive in November in plenty of time for race season.
