Jan 25th at Mountain Dell now a skate/free technique
The January 25Th Wasatch Citizens Series race will be at Mountain Dell Saturday January 25th. It will be an individual start 1km, 2km, 3km, 5km, 10km SKATE/FREE technique race rather than the planned classic technique race. We have changed the technique to help preserve the ski trail at Mountain Dell for as long as possible. Grooming for SKATE will allow the preservation of the existing snow depth at Mountain Dell so that the track will have better longevity following the race. Race course maps for the distances will be posted shortly to the TUNA website for the race.
The volunteer groomers at Mountain Dell have been working long hours to make the track amazing and provide the best possible race conditions.
Bib pickup will begin at 8:30am and end promptly at 9:30am so that the volunteer race crew can be ready for the kids start at 10:00am. Adult will Start after the kids have cleared the course at approximately 10:20 am. All registration must be completed online at www.utahnordic.orgbefore midnight Thursday January 23rd. There is no on-site registration available.
Please carpool and respect the watershed rules. Dogs are not allowed at Mountain Dell either on the trails or in your vehicles. Watershed Officers have the authority to ticket and fine for violations. TUNA and Salt Lake City have a long standing partnership at Mountain Dell and we strongly support the cooperation and coordination it takes to keep the ski trail open and accessible to everyone.
Jen is a USSA L200 cross-country ski coach. Prior to skiing, she raced road, cyclocross, and mountain bikes internationally as a professional. Currently Jen is the Junior Comp coach and TUNA Programs Administrator.
