It firmed up nicely again last night. Come early to enjoy the spring skiing and sunshine before the storm rolls in over the weekend.

Spring is still here! Conditions on repeat with freeze thaw cycles daily. Crust early and very soft slush late. Late afternoon skaters and walkers are really doing a number on the trail. If you can avoid it, please do not ski after 3, the deep ruts freeze solid overnight and are very difficult to groom out. Also, for the people who love to walk the trails…. Please just don’t. Someone walked the entire 5k from the golf building last night and it took 5 laps to remove the footprints.. Post holes are worse than ruts. Help us remind people that the ski trails are for skiing. Full warm spring weather again today with some clouds later.
All trails are open with a fresh soft surface and with hard classic track. Early skating will be very good. Classic skiing will be very exciting and spicy until after 9:30 or so. It will soften significantly later in the day beginning about as the sun warms things up. It is right at freezing this morning so the track will warm quickly. If you can squeeze in a ski and get it just right, you’re bound to have a great time. Warming to near 50 again by afternoon. Crust skiing will be very nice and smooth from the start until about 9:30 today. Hop off the trail and explore a bit. It will get soft earlier today with the warmer morning. Good ski time will be from 10-2 today. Red or violet wax early today, yellow by afternoon with the chance of deep ruts forming. Please be aware of changing conditions, be mindful and ski within your abilities.
Check our trail report for a chance to ski with US Ski Hall of Fame members Jan Reynolds and Billy Demong on Friday. The US Ski Hall of Fame ceremony and activities are this week and from 11-1 Friday they’ll be leading a groups ski at White Pine. Sign up at skihall dot com
Parking is available all around the hotel and underground use the east entrance until the hotel fixes the main garage entrance door. Everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play outside then drop in the shop to say hi and collar a great deal on gear and clothes at our annual sale. Have a Joy filled Spring ski day and hope the clouds this afternoon don’t spray us down with anything but wet flakes.

Ski Trail Conditions: We again have superlative fast fun skiing this morning! Come give yourself the treat of perfect spring skiing by starting before 11am! All the trails with blown snow are groomed for a nice variety of terrain – though unfortunately the relentless March sun had its way with the west-facing hill on Whale’s Tail and you’ll have to walk that. All natural snow trails are basically melted at this point so please stay off them. Please avoid any muddy areas to help keep the snow clean.

There are some grass and icy spots as well, so please proceed with caution in and around a coned area. Conditions will be soft quickly as the temps remained mild overnight.
