White Pine

ever nearer…. It froze just enough last night to make an ice rink. The 3k is getting a fresh groom to go with the classic tracks set late yesterday. Expect a lot of melting and running water as the day heats up. Skiing was pretty good yesterday until early afternoon. Surprisingly good given the temperatures. Places are getting thin so ski with caution and awareness. Probably 10 am will start the sweetness of spring skiing. Very spicy before then so be careful. In fact, be careful all day. End your season on a positive note. Thank you everyone for your support in the crazy season. Drop in, say Hi, get your storage wax done.

White Pine has been part of the Park City community for 50 years. Let’s keep it rolling.

The end is nearer. Pretty much the same as yesterday. Ski at your own risk on closed trails (5k, Farm, Connector, Dog Loop) Ski with caution on the 3k. Watch for icy patches and growing tree well melting. Surface groomed on the 3k. By afternoon it will be quite mushy so come out early. We’re reaching for the silverware drawer to find a fork to stick in it on Sunday at 5. Come and see us, say Hi, thank the staff and we’re always happy to see you. Don’t forget storage wax! Hurry in!

Thanks for supporting your locally owned and operated business for 50 years so far!

The end is near… Heat wave is here. We’ll try to hold on until Sunday for the 3k. Icy early with some very spicy patches to watch out for. 5k is closed and not groomed. ski at your own risk. Farm is posted closed and not groomed. Unmarked hazards will crop up quickly. Ski at your own risk. Crust skiing will be good but breaking up earlier with each day. Best skiing mid-day before it goes to mush and ice mix. Store will close for the season at 5:00pm Sunday 3/27. Get your skis in for summer wax now! It’s been a non-stop Nordic adventure season and we appreciate all of you and your on going support of this locally owned business. Spruces

Groomed Spruces and Jordan Pines this morning. Left the classic track from yesterday as it was in good shape. New snow helped out and conditions were very nice. FYI, there is pavement showing on the North side of the Nursery Meadows loop. This is likely the last week we will groom the north side of that loop. I imagine this is the last week we will groom Jordan Pines as well, as the trail over is melting out. We will groom until the first week of April and then look at wrapping things up. Come up and ski the new snow and enjoy a last lap before spring!

We will be closing for the season on Sunday 3/27 at 5:00pm. We’ll be open 9-5 every day until then! The 5k is CLOSED it is skiable, but you will have to walk in places, the 3k and Armstrong are surface groomed. The Farm will be posted closed tomorrow due to hazards melting out and difficulties safely bringing grooming equipment to the trail (pavement). Crust skiing should be great today, slush skiing will be exceptional later. It did freeze overnight so ski with caution early.

It has been a remarkable season. Drop in to say hi and go for a few final laps!

Solitude Nordic

15°F/-9.4°C at 0830. Trails groomed for skate and classic. Very good conditions early and getting warm and wet as the day progresses. Still mostly fine-grained snow with transformation occurring in the snow under the trees and in direct sunlight.

The end is getting closer.. A beautiful spring morning with a frozen and icy track early. New classic was set late yesterday and it is rock solid this morning along with the deep skate ruts from people who decided “Classic Ski After 3” wasn’t for them. Surface dragging this morning will crumble things up and as the day warms skiing will be quite good again by mid-day. Not quite as warm today so it’ll take a bit more time to soften up. Crust cruising should be great in the morning. If you are a timid or cautious skier, have a second cup of coffee and drop in at 11. We’ll be announcing closed dates soon, but if you want to ski the 5k one more time with your skis on the whole way, you’d better be here in the next couple of days. We have just a couple of really nice high performance demos left on the wall.. You shouldn’t miss the opportunity for these. Bring your skis in for storage wax sooner rather than later.

Ski safe everyone!

Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area

Deer Hollow Grooming Report for Thurs, Mar 17th:
Wednesday’s dusting of an inch of new snow combined with lower temps, resulted in perfect grooming conditions today. The Big Cat was able to lay some perfect corduroy and tracks. All of the XC Trails were groomed with the big SnoCat Groomer, and tracks were set on most.
Snowshoe trails were groomed with the BearCat snowmobile and small YTS Groomer.
Todays Groomers were Jess H. (FS) & Volunteers: Topher, Chris, & Jim.
The Deer Hollow snow pack is a settled 3.5 ft., making backcountry/off-trail conditions perfect. These beautiful spring conditions, won’t last long, so get out and enjoy!
Parking is open, but muddy later in the day.

All trails groomed for skate and classic this morning. 32° at 8:00am with temps dropping slightly throughout the day. Expecting 3-5″ of snow today. Drive safe and ski well!

White Pine

Warm and wet. A chance of snow today after about 9:00 am. No freeze overnight so we’ll be rolling and setting new track on the 5k and 3k. The puddles on the Farm grew overnight. We will probably not groom the Farm today unless it really starts to snow to help preserve what we have. Skiing was exceptional yesterday on all trails. Today will be a day of clean bases and structure if you want some good glide. Classic skiing should be pretty good. Keep a flat ski and help preserve the snow!

Ski safe and watch for ice, water, grass, pavement and other unmarked hazards of spring skiing.

White Pine

Repeat after me: Classic ski after 3

Report is repeat from yesterday pretty much. Spring conditions. Flat skis later in the day save snow and make for better conditions the next day. We’ll be open for a few more days and will post whne we see how the weather sorts out. Get it while you can!

Ski safe!

Spruces

Groomed Spruces and Jordan Pines this morning. Icy and hard in the morning, but will soften as it warms up. Jordan Pines will have sled ski tracks on it, and the trail over to it is melting quickly. I would guess not too much longer we’ll be able to get over there. Spruces has surprisingly good coverage still, there is pavement showing on the north side of Nursery Meadows but otherwise, fairly good coverage. We are going to try to keep grooming until April. Come up and get some skiing in! Plenty of parking spots at 10:00am.
