Good morning skiers! All trails were groomed last night except Bypass and Camp Loop. The classic skiing will be excellent today, skate deck will be good but may be a bit soft with the new snow. It’s shaping up to be a gorgeous day here so head on up!

2-3″ of moist new snow fell overnight. Gorgeous morning! Main Loop, Mitten, Lolipop, Kids Loop, Creek, Boomerang and Wiggle room were groomed up with nice corduroy. Lower loop and Cullen’s remains closed. Classic was set on all loops last night and might be a bit filled in spots for the early birds. Watch for a few wet spots from recent rain, otherwise track is in great shape. Enjoy.
Tried grooming mid morning and was unable to set classic track from Trailhead to Elbow Fork. Was successful setting classic track above Elbow Fork. It is very soft and moist above Elbow Fork and very firm below Elbow Fork. Icy in the early morning hours and somewhat softer conditions in the afternoon
Hammer and Jeff groomed most of the course Friday morning for skate only. Tried to reset classic on a short section of Main but it was too frozen. Groomed the Creek and the World Cup but closed them as the snow needs to set up, especially on World Cup. Did not groom Lower.
Good Morning from the Solitude Nordic Center! Trails have been groomed with the cat this morning for skate and classic. Skating will be good today with warmer snow temps around 30 degrees.
The Bypass, camp loop, and New sensation have not been groomed today, but I expect to get to them and all trails tomorrow morning.

The lower track is groomed for skate and a new classic lane is set. The upper track is groomed for skate. With the firm snow conditions, the tracks are icy and bumpy. Hopefully conditions soften as the day moves forward. Have a great ski!
a beautiful morning today! All trails groomed and open. Skating will be amazing early, amazingly spring-like later. Check road conditions before you go. Lots of ice out there this morning. As per Summit County Health Order 2022-1 MASKS ARE REQUIRED INDOORS FOR EVERYONE IN OR VISITING SUMMIT COUNTY. Please help us stay healthy. We want to keep the trails and the shop open.

We are warm today! Conditions will be very soft and skiing not recommended until temperatures drop and I can hopefully create a good surface again. A bit of new snow would help.

It’s a good day to remember that there is no bad weather, only poor clothing choices. Warm and wet today with periods of mixed rain and snow. Not an easy day for classic waxing, but a great day for using skin skis or skating. Midday should be the prime time for skiing. Everything will be touched up for grooming. Please remember masks are REQUIRED indoors at the Nordic Center. We’re doing this for your health, for our health and for all of our families. We want to stay open and continue to see your smiling faces.
Snow/rain mix off and on most of the day Wednesday has taken a toll. We will not be grooming for Thursday as we wait for the moisture to settle out. If you ski, expect very soft and uneven conditions. Show caution on parts of the trail that travel over pavement.

Mixed conditions today with the snow. everything groomed early, but tracks will disappear with new snow. Good day to enjoy winter in a nuanced way. Travel safe and please remember to mask up inside the store. We’re doing everything we can to keep ourselves and you healthy.
