White Pine

Our March in December snomance has continued. Warm and windy overnight. Wet snow this morning. 3km will be groomed and set. We’re letting the 5km sit and it is not recommended due to some bare patches and hazards from the warmth. Conditions should improve during the day, but temps near freezing will mean soft conditions. red wax or universal rub-on probably will be best. maybe yellow this morning? yikes. A good day to drop your skis for waxing and look at new gear. Keep an eye on the weather. there might be a gear window for skiing this afternoon before the big storm tomorrow!

Be kind, remember you can park underground too and we’ll see you soon.

Soldier Hollow

We were able to blow a bunch of snow last night and we are looking forward to this being the last unseasonably warm day in a while. After this, we seem to have a more favorable weather window and still hope to open to season pass holders this weekend and then to everyone December 15th! Continue to stay TUNAed (tee hee) and we thank you again for your patience!

Groomed from gate to the bathroom late this afternoon. Classic track should be OK in the morning, but very soft by noon. Coverage is questionable in the first 300 to 500 meters, but then gets better. Bare spot will make for very risky skating, so classic is the way to go. The track will likely start firming up again by about 4:30 P.M.

Extreme Spring skiing. Fast and fun in the morning, slush and soft late in the day.

We are open 9-5 daily! Warm yesterday, cold overnight means a little spicy this morning. We’re grooming the trail wide enough for skating and will set classic track on the 3km and 5km loops. Armstrong was rolled, explore with caution. The dog loop is thin with large amounts of running water. Skiing should be really good once the sun comes up! Skating and Classic will be soft after mid day Very warm conditions this afternoon, so ski mid day and then come in and shop for wax and new gear later. Blue wax this morning, red later is the order of the day. If your skis are sticking its time to wax! The shop is open so come pick up your pass and check out all the amazing new gear and clothing. We have boots in your size! ~12/05/23 08:08 am

Be kind, ski with flair and watch for construction equipment on the 5km this morning!

Good afternoon!

The 2.5k and the 4.5k tracks are too wet and soft to groom at this time due to the warm temperatures and rain that we received yesterday afternoon. With warmer temps coming through Wednesday we are now anticipating an opening after the next storm cycle at the end of this week. We are looking forward to opening up and seeing all of you soon!

All of our merchandise has arrived for the season and season passes are now available in the Nordic Golf Shop.

Thank you and have a great week!

A lovely day for a ski. Wet snow yesterday should make it a little sticky early, but better later. Warming trend will definitely make you wax your skis up. Red wax will do for today. 3k and 5k groomed today. We’ll be grooming mid morning to let the moisture settle a little. Armstrong is rolled but not groomed. Ski with extreme caution if you go there. We’ll try to get the dog loop rolled later today as well.

Ski safe, be kind, buy your pass and have fun! Get going on your holiday wish list while we still have your size!

Some areas near Fairview received a lot of wet snow Saturday night but it was also variable. Moreover, temperatures promptly jumped into the 40’s and this week looks warm as well. What snow fell on the golf course is likely settling and melting off and leaving the area wet and slushy. Assume skiing is not possible until further notice.

Disappointing, and probably not worth trying to ski it Sunday. Much moisture, little accumulation. If you do head out, rock skis only. Any place you cross cart path or road surface you will almost certainly hit pavement.

White Pine

oh yes! another 4-5 inches of fresh wet snow means we are at 8 inches in this cycle. Heavy wet snow so get your wax on or you’ll be clomping. Soft sloooow sticky conditions early for skating. Best to wait until mid morning to let the snow firm for skating. Classic will be great with fresh track set if you’re waxed. This is what we’ve been waiting for.

Come out, buy or pick up your pass, ski with great Joy and enthusiasm.

Spruces

Hi folks, welcome to another winter at Spruces. I groomed the upper loops today and put up the trail signs. It is still thin on the northern side and you may go down to pavement in a few spots. The lower loop still needs more snow to groom – I sled packed it today, but it is very thin and needs more snow. Have fun!

Skiing Sunday? Get it early. The forecast calls for several inches of snow overnight, and we plan to be hitting it hard starting at 6 A.M. Sunday. Normally we ask that you stay away when we are grooming out a fresh snowfall, but Sunday we are singing a different tune. Current hourly forecast (as of Saturday afternoon) has rain starting at around 11 A.M. Sunday. Up to a half inch of rain through the rest of Sunday. Skiing in rain is terrible. So come get it early, and plan to wrap it up by 11 A.M. Expect soft conditions, always a characteristic of freshly groomed snow. Expect machines on course until about 10 A.M. See you out there.

Soldier Hollow

About 5 inches and counting here. Rolling of trails has started on about 11k of trails. It is packing down thin enough the trails remain closed but with enough additional accumulation tonight there is a chance of opening to season passholders starting tomorrow (Sunday December 3). Snowmaking on about 2k is progressing well so hopefully we will have some immaculate classic track before much longer.
