Looking like a sunny day today. Temperatures were very cold overnight. Crunchy, icy crust conditions early should soften a bit by mid day. Blue wax day. Skating will be very exciting, fast and icy early, classic tracks are solid and softening through the day. Spring conditions are finally here. The means crunchy in the morning and soft late afternoon. Find the sweet spot and enjoy. Watch for water coming through the snow bridges on the dog loop.
Help us remind walkers and dog walker to PLEASE use the snowshoe trail. A dog walker in snowshoes destroyed the classic track on the 5k hills yesterday in the rain. It’s regroomed now, but made a lot of unnecessary work for our groomers. There is a local resident who makes it a point to walk the south end of the 5k track every morning after we groom. Not sure what to do about that. It seems intentional.
The Final WCS race of the season will be Saturday at the Farm. Please carpool! Parking is reduced at St. Mary’s Church due to the heavy snowplow stacks. Registration deadline is tonight at midnight. All activities will be outdoors and the social hall will not be available for skiers due to an evening event at the church. Farm trail will be closed to public skiing on Saturday morning.
