Good morning! At 0740 it is 23°F/-5° C with heavy snow falling. All trails groomed, but snow will accumulate on the trails throughout the day.

Good Morning!!
With the warmer temperatures over the past few days, it has forced us to close the entire trail system here at Jeremy Ranch. We are monitoring the snow levels daily with the hopes of receiving enough to reopen portions of our trails later in the week. Feel free to reach out to the Nordic/Golf Shop with any questions. We will update our report as soon as we have any new information.
Our “Spring into the Nordic/Golf Shop Sale” has begun. Come on in and enjoy 40% of all in stock Nordic items along with Golf apparel, hats and shoes. Sale will run through the month of March. Stop by today, have a look around and enjoy the discount!!
Fire up those snow dances and hopefully we get more accumulation than is forecasted!!
Thank you for your continued support of the JR Nordic Center.

An inch of new snow! Yippeeeee! We groomed all the core trails last night, so they will have an inch of new snow on them. We will start Junior National’s racing on the 10th, but should always have trails open to the public as well.

The positive of the morning is cooler temperatures. Overnight ice floes have made the practice loop unskiable. We’ll try to scuff up the surface, but it is not advisable in any way. We’ll be making several light passes on the 3k and Armstrong to see how the surface comes up. Please check in or check the report later for updates.
Possible that we’ll have good skiing in mid morning, but we’re being cautious today. Dog Loop, 5k, practice loop and Farm are CLOSED until we get some more snow. The low bush, grass and icy patches are definite hazards for hard crust cruising as are the dips and icy areas. The heat yesterday did no favors. There are thin spots so be aware and watch for rocks, grass and pavement. There are icy patches and some dirt/cart paths trying to poke through so be careful and keep your eyes open. We are not able to refresh any classic track at this time. Skiing may be best from about 11 until about 3. We can’t control the weather but the next few days we are crossing our fingers, toes, arms and legs in the hope of some new snow coming. Expect hard ice and mixed conditions if you venture out early today. Keep your eyes forward and watch where you are going. Wax will be klister early then skin skis for classic. Violet/red for glide over the day. Be aware of icy patches on the trail, in the parking lot and walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs. Please no walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. As you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a much needed break from the news we’re here for you. It will be a great day to drop off your skis for a rejuvenating spa day so they’ll be ready for more spring skiing. Spread some Joy out in the shop, look out for icy and/or wet bits, be safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our incredible community and reading deeply into this trail report. Drop in the store to say hi, shop the sale and visit for a few minutes. Everyone be safe. If we get some good snow later in the week, we’ll be jumping for Joy!
We strongly recommend stopping in the shop BEFORE you head out on the trails when we have these extreme Spring conditions. If you head out and assume you know the conditions, you could be quite surprised. We want you to have a great ski experience every day and we’re doing our best every day to try to make it happen. Everyone ski safe and aware!
We’ll be making a call Wednesday on the planned Wasatch Citizens race scheduled for Saturday at the Farm. Stay tuned.

Weather and Conditions: It is currently 46F and sunny. The forecasted high is 60 F.
Ski Trail Conditions: Again, the cold overnight temperatures will keep the snow firm for longer today. See below for what was groomed. The ungroomed trails were surprisingly icy still well into the day yesterday so ski with caution or stay on the grooming.

Sunday Funday!!
With the warmer temperatures over the past couple of days, it has forced us to close the upper trail until more snow comes. We only have a small loop open for skate and classic on the lower trail. Skating lane is in good shape and the classic lane is OK. Day passes will be $10 until we can open up the remainder of our trails.
Our “Spring into the Nordic/Golf Shop Sale” has begun. Come on in and enjoy 40% of all in stock Nordic items along with Golf apparel, hats and shoes. Sale will run through the month of March. Stop by today, have a look around and enjoy the discount!!

Todays Haiku:
Our winter season;
Tease us to the edge, repeat;
Resupply with snow.
It’s going to be a sunny and almost tropical spring day here in the Wasatch Back banana belt. This morning early will be a glaze on the donut scale with some sprinkles from a light groom. We’re holding on still and skiing will be pretty good mid-morning to mid-day today. Dog Loop and Farm are CLOSED until we get some more snow. The low bush, grass and icy patches are definite hazards for crust cruising as are the dips and wet areas that are just getting wetter and more widespread as the heat wave continues. There are thin spots so be aware and watch for rocks, grass and pavement. Conditions are still good on the 3k and Armstrong with the very light re-surface of skate again this morning. There are icy patches and some dirt/cart paths trying to poke through so be careful and keep your eyes open. There are some shovels out there near the thin spots, feel free to go a few steps off the trail and toss a couple of scoops on to the areas that need it. Every scoop keeps you skiing longer. We are not able to refresh the classic track at this time. Skate Skiing will be best from about 9:30 until about 3. Get off the trail for a bit this morning and feel the freedom of cruising the icy crust until it starts to break under you. Then scurry back on the trail (probably around 10:00 today) We can’t control the weather but the next few days we are crossing our fingers, toes, arms and legs in the hope of some new snow coming. The 5km loop trail is CLOSED until further notice. Skating will be good until mid-afternoon today then we strongly recommend changing to classic skiing after 2 pm in order to help protect and maintain the trails and prevent ruts from skating. Expect spring-like mixed conditions with soft melting surface in the sun and glazed in the shade. Keep your eyes forward and watch where you are going. Wax will be klister early then skin skis for classic. Violet/red/yellow for glide over the day. Make sure you’re waxed and have some structure on your bases today to release the water surface tension. Put on your sunglasses, touch up your sunscreen, snug up those laces and head outside to play! Spread Joy and Sunshine out on the trails, look out for icy and/or wet bits, ski safe and be kind. We are still pondering beach wear and pond skimming next week whilst awaiting more snow. Thank you for being part of our incredible community and reading this deeply into this long form Spring trail report. Go for a ski and then drop in the store to say hi, shop the sale and visit for a few minutes. See you on the trails!

Our spring sale is well underway! All skis, boots, poles and clothing 30% off marked prices. High performance waxes (except Toko Jet) and iron-in waxes are 40% off. All sales are final. No returns or refunds. Limited to stock on hand. Get in and gear up now!
Millcreek
There was an emergency at the yurt last night. Several vehicles left deep tracks in the center of the road. The result is very little space to ski and icy conditions. Skiing could be potentially dangerous until it is repaired and snow fills it in.
Spruces
Got to everything with the single track, snow was pretty firm so not sure how much it helped. Snow in the near future will hopefully fill in some spots that have been melting with the recent warm weather.
An overall update on Spruces:
Please have patience, our ability to groom Spruces is reduced.

Happy March 1st!!
With the warmer temperatures over the past couple of days, it has forced us to close the upper trail until more snow comes. We still have 1 kilometer open on our lower trail that was groomed for skate for the whole 1km and a partial loop of the 1km is set for classic. Day passes will be $10 until we can open up the remainder of our trails.

It’s going to be a sunny and shockingly warm spring day again. This morning early will be a shiny glaze on the ceramic scale. As soon as it starts to break under you get off the crust and back on the trail (probably around 10:00 today) We can’t control the weather but the next few days we should remain okay.
We’re making the sweetest lemonade we can this morning by very lightly smoothing out the ruts on the 3k and Armstrong. The 5km loop trail is CLOSED until further notice. Skating will be good until mid-afternoon today then we strongly recommend changing to classic skiing after 2 pm in order to help protect and maintain the trails and prevent ruts from skating. SR-65
Produced a decent-looking skate track from where the snow begins up the road a short ways to the top. This afternoon, after some intermittent patches, a continuous snow route over the asphalt began 1/3 mile from the gate, with full coverage beginning .5 mi from the gate (and of course these distances will be increasing!). Groom begins at .6 mi. If you go not too early and not too late (I’d go out on a limb and say 9:00), perhaps approaching with an old pair of shoes you can stash in the bushes—and measured expectations—you should have a good time.
Fat bikers, please go EARLY so you’re not creating the troughs that ruin things for all the skiers that follow you, like the deep ones I cleaned up today.
