TUNA follows the development recommendations for the US Ski team. Because this age group can have multiple abilities, we offer three options for middle grades students depending on their number of years in the sport.

Junior Comp

Weekly Practice Schedule

The Junior Comp program is a developmentally appropriate Nordic ski competition program for middle school students. The focus of this program is to allow these young athletes the appropriate training and skill development to race in the Intermountain Division in the U12 and U14 divisions. Skiers will also race in the Wasatch Citizens Series. Racing is never mandatory, however, skiers in this group will learn the skills for racing.

The expectation in the Junior Comp program is that skiers come to practice ready to learn and ski. The program includes age-appropriate training, games, and skill development.
