TUNA follows the development recommendations for the US Ski team. Because this age group can have multiple abilities and interests, we offer two options for middle grades students — one focused on recreation, one focused on competition.
Junior Comp – Competition Focus
The Junior Comp program is a developmentally appropriate Nordic ski competition program for middle school students. The focus of this program is to allow these young athletes the appropriate training and skill development to race in the Intermountain Division in the U12 and U14 divisions. Skiers will also race in the Wasatch Citizens Series. Racing is never mandatory, however, skiers in this group will learn the skills for racing.
