Today should be a wonderful day to come skiing! a total of 8″ yesterday, cold and partly sunny today. Another great day for classic skiing and skating. The super cold overnight pulled some moisture from the snow leaving a packed powder surface. We’ll get everything groomed. Enjoy the day. If you haven’t picked up your WCS season beanie or Season Award plaque, they are available at the White Pine Nordic Center. Come on in. We still advise wearing a mask while indoors at the Nordic Center.
All current loops (Main, Mitten, Boomerang, Wiggle Room, Lollipop-top, and Kid’s Cutoff) groomed Monday morning skate and classic. Coverage is excellent with only one significant icy portion on Lollipop. Snow remains soft, should be good skiing today.
Winter is back, at least for the time being. An inch or two fell overnight and temps dropped. The base is for the most part still in tact, having weathered the warmth of the last week. So I made two passes around all trails this morning, including setting a new classic track. It may be soft underneath so the colder our nights are, the better it will set up. Not sure how much longer we can use it and enjoy it, but this week looks better than last. Try skiing early if you can as it should be firmer then.

Wow, lots of new snow at Spruces! I packed and rolled Spruces and Jordan Pines this morning. Snowing when I finished, if you come up it will likely be fresh snow on top of the groom.
23°F/-5°C at 0815. ~7″ new snow. All trails groomed for classic and skating. To keep it short, it is beautiful!!
ANNNND, Winter is back! We’ll be grooming everything today. Over 6″ of fresh powdery snow so far. It’ll take a minute to get to the Farm, but skiing should be fantastic all day with some new classic tracks and fresh snow to cover up we can only describe as late spring conditions. Beautiful day for classic as light snow is expected to continue through the day. Come out and enjoy! It’s the most snow we’ve had in one storm this calendar year. Be aware of the wet surface underneath the fresh snow and watch for slick spots. We still recommend wearing a mask while indoors at the Nordic Center. Stay healthy and drive safe everyone! 30°F/-1.1°C at 0700. ~1″ overnight. Grooming on hold today. The new snow and approaching weather systems will help us a lot.
All of the XC Trails were groomed with the big SnoCat Groomer, and tracks were set on most.
The snowshoe trails were groomed with the BearCat snowmobile and small YTS Groomer, and, for special treatment, were also given a pass with the big SnoCat!
Spruces and Jordan Pines groomed today. No classic track set. Slushy conditions. Can still go around all loops on snow, two thin spots on north side of lower and upper loop, but good coverage everywhere else. Trail to Jordan Pines is very thin as well. New snow tomorrow will help.
Skate and classic groomed today, though I would suggest skating today due to low quality classic tracks. Another warm day with a high of 36 so plan accordingly.
