Beautiful blue wax morning! Classic skiing should be incredible again today. Easy cruising. All trails groomed and set. A little snow expected through the day but that’s okay with us. Thank you for purchasing AND displaying your trail pass while skiing. We are out checking every day now. If we can see your pass, we won’t stop you to ask if you have one. The 20k Farm race is Saturday morning so the Farm will be closed for the race until mid-day. Dave Hanscom will be presiding over his final race as Race Director of the WCS. There will be a very brief presentation between the kids race and the adults race so plan on socially distancing for a bit. Parking and portable toilets will be at St. Mary’s. We will not be inside this year. As always please remind any dog owners or walkers that you encounter on the trails that Basin Trails and Round Valley are excellent places for those activities.

Stay safe, stay healthy and get outside!

We are catching up with the snow, and we have all loops sled packed. Classic skiing on snowmobile tracks is what the current conditions provide. The skiing will improve on Friday and into the weekend. Please consider using public transportation. The UTA bus will drop you off right at Spruces.

Gorgeous blue sky, blue wax day! cold and crisp morning. Somewhat soft conditions with all the new snow, but everything is being groomed and will be ready for your ski day. Farm will be coming on nicely today. Please purchase and display your trail pass. And as always this season, remind dog owners, walkers and fat bikers that Round Valley and the Basin trails are excellent places to run their dogs, stretch their legs or ride their bikes. No pets are allowed anywhere on the golf course or the Farm. The free dog loop is there for walking and skiing but the rest of the trails are for skiers. Paying skiers. See you out on the trails while we’re checking passes!

East Canyon highway groomed for skate and classic to the first switchback. About 12″ new snow fell on yesterday’s 17″, making a groom to the top put off for a later date. Nice looking classic, but obviously soft conditions for skating. Spotted two moose near a bald eagle in tree at about mile marker 4. Come ski a beautiful sanctuary. The season ends before you know it!

Touch of new snow last night. This is the storm that does not end. So trails groomed by 10:00 am today, classic track and skate lane. We have had some flurries and snow showers but not enough to make much difference.

Good Afternoon Mt Dell User

As of 10 am Mitten, Main, Boomerang, Wiggle, Kid’s and Lollipop were groomed for skate and classic. Conditions should be GREAT, but soft. Cullen and Roch were sled packing Creek and Lower loops. Didn’t see the young Moose, but saw evidence that he was around so be careful if you see him. Enjoy the trails

As of 6 A.M. Wednesday, another six inches since the second shift wrapped up Tuesday. That brings us to a measured 15 inches so far in this storm, with maybe a few more before the storm tapers around 11 A.M. We will have two shifts today. We anticipate corduroy and classic lanes in the early afternoon. Expect soft conditions and anticipate encountering machinery all day. There is an agitated solo juvenile moose on course. DO NOT approach the moose. Thanks.

Snow showers all day today. Track was rolled late afternoon, with snow coming down much of the time. Plan is to groom Wed morning if all goes well. Whoever has been praying for snow can now stop. We are good!

With the forecasted snow tonight we will be grooming Wednesday morning. We’ll start about 6am and should have Mitten, Main, Kid’s and Boomerang groomed by 9am. An update will be posted on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Thanks… Bill

We went to East Canyon to ski a little bit and sled pack a whole bunch. (17 inches new higher up in the Canyon.) After sled packing the sun came out and the lighting was wonderful.
So we groomed for classic and skate to the first switchback. Likely will snow a bunch tonight but we tried!
We have been routinely seeing the bald eagles in the canyon and around the reservoir. Keep your eyes out for the big birds perched in the trees!
Enjoy.

We have packed down and groomed for skate and set classic this morning. The winds have produced a lot of drifting on the trails. More snow on the way today too!
