All trails groomed for skate and classic this morning. 32° at 8:00am with temps dropping slightly throughout the day. Expecting 3-5″ of snow today. Drive safe and ski well!

White Pine

Warm and wet. A chance of snow today after about 9:00 am. No freeze overnight so we’ll be rolling and setting new track on the 5k and 3k. The puddles on the Farm grew overnight. We will probably not groom the Farm today unless it really starts to snow to help preserve what we have. Skiing was exceptional yesterday on all trails. Today will be a day of clean bases and structure if you want some good glide. Classic skiing should be pretty good. Keep a flat ski and help preserve the snow!

Ski safe and watch for ice, water, grass, pavement and other unmarked hazards of spring skiing.

Repeat after me: Classic ski after 3

Report is repeat from yesterday pretty much. Spring conditions. Flat skis later in the day save snow and make for better conditions the next day. We’ll be open for a few more days and will post whne we see how the weather sorts out. Get it while you can!

Ski safe!

Crust! The crust cruising was outstanding Friday morning from about 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Based on today’s temperatures during that time and Saturday’s forecast, I expect the sweet spot Saturday to be between 8:30 A.M and 9:30 A.M. For those of you who are new to crust cruising, it is skiing off the groomed track on the smooth, fast surfaces that have thawed and refrozen smoothly. This is way different than skiing a frozen, rutted groomed track. Best done on skate skis. The window is short each day and if you miss it you either have a terrifying ride (too early) or you are rutting the surface (too late) and ruining it for everyone else for future days. If you are breaking the crust with your skis or your poles start punching through, find your way to the closest groomed surface and head home.

Snow is likely Sunday. Our contract with the city says we are done grooming for the year. The striding will probably be a blast Sunday and crust might be good again by Tuesday and Wednesday. No track fee, no maintenance. Please respect the golf course and stay off the greens. Enjoy!

Groomed Spruces and Jordan Pines this morning. Icy and hard in the morning, but will soften as it warms up. Jordan Pines will have sled ski tracks on it, and the trail over to it is melting quickly. I would guess not too much longer we’ll be able to get over there. Spruces has surprisingly good coverage still, there is pavement showing on the north side of Nursery Meadows but otherwise, fairly good coverage. We are going to try to keep grooming until April. Come up and get some skiing in! Plenty of parking spots at 10:00am.

Track Conditions
Due to reduced coverage and warm temperatures on the way, we have closed the tracks for the season. Thank you for a terrific year and we appreciate the support of the Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center. We look forward to seeing everyone next winter for another great season of skiing. Be safe and have a great summer!!

Another scrunchy Spring ski day. Icy early, nice in the middle and slushy late. We set new classic track late yesterday and it was promptly skated over leaving deep ruts that froze overnight. You’re welcome. We’ll try to smooth them out this morning. Hotel guests and condo residents have been using the 5k as an adventure park every night so ski with caution and help us remind them that the ski trail is for skiing, for people who pay for the privilege, it’s not a public park.

Rant over, it’ll be a beautiful spring day, wait until after 10 and come ski your heart out until about 2. After that, please classic. Early crust cruising will be fantastic, but it may break apart earlier than yesterday given the temperatures. Still a couple of really nice demo skis on the wall and three pair of used rental skis. Things are disappearing and we’re planning to stick it out as long as we can. The clock is ticking though. Drop in and say Hi! It’s been a great season so far.

That’s a wrap! At about noon on Thursday a hole melted out on the park road thereby eliminating a complete loop of the Main. Of course there were wiggly work-arounds and you could still do Main/Mitten loops without removing skis. Crust cruising was fast and viable in huge areas until about 10:30a. Thanks for skiing Mountain Dell! We can’t wait to see you on snow here in December.

Track Conditions
Good Morning. We are still open for skiing!! The Upper 2.5 km Track will remain closed today. The Lower 4 km Track was groomed this morning for skate and a classic lane is set. The classic lane is in decent shape throughout but icy in certain areas. The skating will be good but conditions are icy as well and will be soft later this morning. Please use caution when going over the bridges as some have narrowed and are icy entering and exiting. There are a couple of areas that the snow has completely melted through to the ground so please be cautious. Have a great day!!

Groomed for skate and classic today with good results up top, and ok results down in the Redman’s. Skate should be fine this morning, and classic will be best up top from the Fire Station on up.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We’ll be seeing more green (grass) appearing around the track today. Definitely Spring skiing. Crust cruising might be your best bet early. The track is roughed up but very icy underneath from yesterday’s continued warm temperatures. Best skiing will be starting around 10 or so as things start to soften. Too icy to reset classic early, but we’ll try later. Things will go to mush later in the afternoon so hit that skiing before 3. Watch for icy patches, grass, cart paths, unmarked hazards, geese and various other seasonal afflictions. It is that time of the year. Skiing is excellent in most places but getting sketchy in those sun exposed areas. Choose your path carefully grasshopper. And structure your skis or have us do it!

Sale continues, still a few classic and skate deals around but don’t wait too long. Stay safe and ski aware.

Powder Day! just kidding. The heat and wet overnight have done no favors. The 5k was skiable as of last night despite the dozens of walkers, dogs and spring break visitors tearing it up. Watch for standing water, pavement, patches of grass, ice patches and other unmarked hazards. The skiing is really good except the patches where it isn’t. If you travel carefully you’ll have a good time and enjoy it while it lasts. All other trails will be soft with patches of ice and standing water on the Farm a concern. Just be safe, ski with care and if you’re leaving deep ruts skating, you may want to switch to classic or maybe wax and structure your skis for tomorrow. Spring thaw is here today.

Groomed today and left Bill’s classic track from yesterday. Conditions are nice. We have pavement showing in two spots, at the eastern end of Jordan Pines and the Northern part of Nursery Meadows. But other than that, coverage is good and snow was pretty.
