Good morning,

It’s a beautiful Bluebird Day!! The Upper and Lower tracks have been groomed for skate and are in good shape. All 7k have been groomed for classic and it should be a great day for a classic ski. Conditions are soft after all the new snow the past few days. Come on out and enjoy the trails. More snow is on the way!

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!!

It has never taken two grooms to get to the first switchback. The amount of snow yesterday was the most ever down low and very difficult to manage. Early this morning, the skate lane was improved and classic set to the restroom. The crew is now sled packing to the first switchback. Skate and classic will be in place by mid to late morning. Do yourself a favor and ski this wonderland before the rain and snow begins tomorrow night.

Soldier Hollow

About half of the trails freshly groomed and believe it or not no snow has fallen on top of the groom job. Inconceivable! Trails not groomed this morning will have up to an inch sitting on top of the groom and some tracks from yesterday. Conditions will be superlative this morning but warmer air and undiluted sunshine will turn the snow soft so that means if you are reading this now, you owe it to yourself to come here without delay!

White Pine

Another beautiful Winter day! Maybe a few signs of Spring temperatures today! Cold temps overnight will make for a fun track today for skating. Classic will be fantastic today with fresh tracks and skate will firm up. Yesterday was so good, you really missed out if you weren’t able to ski with us. Blue wax in late March still? Yes, but red later this morning. Sunshine expected today, but you never know this season. Ski safe in our final couple of weeks! we’ll be focussed on the 3k, 5k and Armstrong today. We’ll get to the Farm by late morning if the wind subsides. It’s breezy out there and there may be a little drifting during the morning. Get over here and ski! less than two weeks and we are done for the season.

Your Wasatch Citizens Series awards, medals and mugs are available at the Nordic Center. Come see us and pick up your awards and accolades.

Basin Rec will not be grooming their trails today FYI if you missed the morning report on KPCW.

Don’t miss this day! snow expected to return tomorrow.

We thought it would be a nice simple groom today.
Sunday night storm added 20 inches or so! Very challenging conditions!
Groomed for skate to the restrooms. It is a rough skate track.
Hope to improve the quality tomorrow morning. Also hope to get to the 1st switchback as well.
Snow, snow and then some!

Good Morning!!

Another unbelievable night of snow!! We received almost a foot of snow overnight and 18 inches in the past 24 hours. We are currently packing the lower track but have yet to groom for skate or set a classic lane. The hope is to have the lower trail open by early afternoon. The Upper trail will be attended to after completion of the lower trail. Feel free to call the Nordic Center (435-649-2700) for any further updates. Thank you for your patience!! Be safe on your travels!!

Have a great day!!

Soldier Hollow

Nearly every trail was groomed in the wee hours of the morning. Conditions are as near to perfection as you can hope for anytime. To have 100 percent open track and conditions like this at the very end of March is a thing to behold. Don’t mope around with cabin fever; come out for some fantastic skate and classic!

That’s a wrap (for Mtn Dell. Check out the SR 65 page for grooming updates!) As we finished the final groom of the season Sunday morning, the skies opened up and we received six inches of fresh in three hours. There will be plentiful snow for many days to come, but we will not be grooming Mountain Dell anymore this season. You are welcome to ski, but please show respect for our SLC Golf hosts and do not ski across greens, which are all fenced or roped off. We should also have many weeks of crust cruising.

Thank you is inadequate for the crew of volunteer groomers who show up daily for four hours of cold, dark, hard work. They make this amazing resource possible. Heading into that fourth hour on a sled in single-digit temperatures requires endurance, a high pain threshold and an unbelievably generous spirit. Most have been at it for well more than 10 winters. I am regularly awed and humbled by their efforts, and am lucky to be associated with such a band of stubborn, dedicated snow farmers.

We groomed 118 days this season, but that still is short of our record year. Our five year average is 101 days. We hope you find that season pass an incredible value, and thank you for being a part of the Mountain Dell community. See you out there!

White Pine

Yet another beautiful Winter day! Cold temps and another inch of snow overnight should make for a fun track today for skating. Classic will be fantastic today with fresh tracks and skate will be the best of the last several days. Yesterday was so good, you really missed out if your weren’t able to ski with us. Blue wax in late March still? Yes. Not a lot of snow expected later today, but you never know this season. We’ll be focussed on the 3k, 5k and Armstrong today. We’ll get to the Farm as we can afterwards depending on the breezes and squalls. You can help us stay grooming by purchasing your trail pass… Diesel fuel is still $5 a gallon..

We are still trying to locate the person from the Park Avenue condos who waits until we groom every morning and then takes their dog out to tear up the track. It’s problematic.

Your WCS Season awards and season mugs are available at the White Pine Nordic Center. Check the final points on the WCS page and get in to pick up your hard earned award!

Solitude Nordic

We had technical problem with our groomer today and we couldn’t continue grooming. We have very very limited groomed trails. We really apologize for the inconvenience. We should be able to remove cat issues by tomorrow to groom our trails.

FROM ALL OF US MTN DELL GROOMERS – A heartfelt shout out goes back at Chris Magerl for keeping us hell-bent on serving up the best track possible throughout the winter. Thanks Chris! And to all you skiers who braved the interstate truckers to come ski our track, we appreciate you. We’d feel like idiots if you never showed up!
