With snow in the forecast the track will be groomed Wednesday morning. We will be on the track at 7am to sled pack and should have Mitten, Main, Kid”s Cutoff and Lollipop groomed by 10 or 11 am. An updated report should be posted around noon/

Cold night, here as everywhere. This morning the skate lane was dragged out to buff it up. I did not have the use of the tooth bar until a half hour in, then the switch worked. (It will be replaced this week). Classic track was left alone as it is still excellent. I skied the skate lane late morning and there are still a few rough spots but overall, excellent experience.

Couple more feet of snow. Rolled Spruces this morning. Have not been able to get over to Jordan Pines due to deep snow drifts. Enjoy the new snow!

It’s a bluebird start to the day!! We groomed for skate and classic this morning and all 4.5km of trails are open on the Lower Trail!! The skate lanes groomed up really nicely and the snow conditions are good. Classic lanes are set and should ski beautifully throughout the day. The Upper Trail is in the process of being packed and groomed. The hope is to have that trail open by late morning. The Upper Trail has softer snow conditions but should firm up as the week moves along. Feel free to reach out to the Nordic Center with any questions or for more information.

All trails groomed for skate and classic today, except for Mid and Big Redman which are still in good shape. 11° at 8:30am, high of 26° with some wind and snow this afternoon.
Soldier Hollow
Everyone’s snow dances worked! We have gotten around 2 feet of snow in the last week which has allowed us to open up all of our trails. The far reaching natural trails like roller coaster and pony express were groomed last night and everything else has been groomed within the past 24 hours. The groomers are still out working on spin and grin. The cold temperatures this morning should help the natural snow trails feel a bit firmer this morning. Come out and enjoy our freshly groomed new snow!
White Pine
A cold, crisp and sunny day coming up. Yesterday’s adventure weather is gone and the sun will be out. The 5km and 3km loops will be groomed and track set early. We’ll be raking those pesky willow branches and pine cones on the 5km loop but any help you can offer to flick or toss those pieces off to the side of the trail would be greatly appreciated and also improve your ski experience. Think of it as nordic cross training. We’ll have the Snowcat out mid morning to start knocking the drifts down at the Farm and Armstrong. The wind forecast looks calm but it will be a bit chilly until midday. Please dress for the weather today Skiing will be a bit slow today with the cold packed windblown snow. Come share the Joy of skiing! Blue wax is the call today. Snowshoes will also be a very good option today. We have rentals! We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. We will have at least 8km of skiing groomed by midday today and we’ll update about the Farm later. Please ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips helps! We’ll focus grooming on the 3k and 5k early. Go play in the sunshine and new snow, make a snow angel or snowperson off the trail, share the Joy and enjoy what is looking to be a beautiful day!
The next Wasatch Citizens Series ski race will be this Saturday January 20th at Soldier Hollow. Online registration is at utahnordic.org Deadline is Thursday night at midnight. Age group distances for this skate race are 10km, 5km, 3km, 2km and 1km. Age group wave starts beginning at 10 am for youth divisions, 10:20 am for Adult groups and novices. Check utahnordic.org for updates and details.
Be sure to thank our incredible groomers when you see them. Lou, Roch, Matias, Mark, and Todd have been working extremely hard to make your ski experience the best it can be. And they have been doing a great job. None of that track and morning groom happens by accident. And please, if you see a stick, pinecone or willow branch on the trail, flick it off the trail.

Great News Skiers! Bandanas Cafe across the hall from us is now open until 8pm daily for your after-ski beverages, pizza and pasta. Now you can ski until sundown and then have a relaxing place to dine and drink while you’re waiting for traffic on the highway to thin out!

All open trails groomed for skate Monday evening. Classic track that was set Monday morning was in great shape, so we left it alone. Creek and Lower still closed. It was 12 degrees when we left this evening, with no skiers on course. Should set up nicely overnight. Enjoy Tuesday skiers!

As of 10:00 am, gusts are continuing but diminishing. The 5km loop has been groomed with one pass and one classic track. Snowcat set between the nordic center and duck ponds on the 5km. Making additional passes on the 3km with single classic set. Still windy but the sun is out. We had very high winds and drifting this morning. The wind forecast looks like some more calming. Definitely a good day to enjoy that second cup of tea or coffee before you head out. 3km and 5km are first priority for grooming and track setting. NO Farm or Armstrong today. 4-6 foot drifts on the Farm in places. Exciting day!

The track was groomed this morning. A bit tricky since the new snow (packed and rolled yesterday) came wet then froze last night so our trails were a little crusty. But the skate lane has been dragged/ buffed out and a new classic track was set so skiing should be very good. The classic track looks great. I will be back over there later this morning to ski.

Happy MLK Day!! We groomed for skate and classic this morning and all 4.5km of trails are open on the Lower Trail!! The skate lanes groomed up really nicely and the snow conditions are firm. Classic lanes are set and should ski nicely throughout the day. The wind will be a factor as the trails may get wind blown throughout the day. The Upper Trail is closed at this time but we put lots of work into packing it yesterday. Once the winds die down we will be able to fully groom the Upper Trail. Mountain Dell
Jerry Richardson and Tom Doughtery reset all classic and skate Monday morning at Mtn Dell. Course leveled out much better than yesterday, and the snow has dried out from yesterday. Everything open and regroomed except Creek and Lower, which both need more snow before we can safely open them. Wind has definitely been a factor this morning, so expect some drifting in of classic tracks and some portions of the skate lane.

WE WILL UPDATE THE GROOMING REPORT LATER THIS MORNING. as of 7:30 am, high gusts are continuing. Very High winds and drifting this morning. The wind forecast looks like some calming after 8 am so we’ll get out to track pack and groom as soon as visibility improves and the gusts settled down a bit. Definitely a good day to enjoy that second cup of tea or coffee before you head out. 3km and 5km are set for first priority for grooming and track setting. About 8 more inches of snow yesterday, but with the wind it is deeper in some places and less deep in others. Very high wind gusts, sustained wind and drifting this morning. Please dress for the weather today Skiing will be slow today with the track soft and the fresh snow. Come share the Joy of skiing in fresh snow! Red wax is the call today. Snowshoes will also be a very good option today. We have rentals! We are open 9-5 daily. Please continue to be careful and ski within your abilities. Hi. 25°F/-4°C at 0720 with 4″ new overnight. Very windy up here. The best skiing today will be out of the wind on the Redman’s. None of the trails above the cabins have been groomed due to a large tree and power line across the trail. If you go near this area PLEASE TREAT THIS LINE AS A LIVE/HOT/DEADLY LINE INTIL IT IS REPAIRED. It is best to avoid it altogether.
