A beautiful Winter morning! 3k, 5k and Armstrong groomed and open. Please ski with care and watch for the thin spots on upper Armstrong and under the willows on the 5k. Have a great ski day!

The final proposal for the PC Council for the parking on Thaynes should be made public late today. Your support for restoring the parking for carpools and para-skiers under the proposal is always appreciated. We have the best community around. Please don’t be a silent supporter.

MD groomed for skate tonight. Main, Mitten, and Kids groomed. Still a bit thin for classic track.

Early season conditions exist. Ski with caution!

A large flock of turkeys are populating MD. (Different from the flock of MD groomers who some consider turkeys!) This flock has exhibited some aggressive behavior. Use caution.

Let’s hope for a snowy season!!!!

Spruces

Groomed both Spruces Loops and Jordan Pines today. Lots of new snow. Lower loop and Jordan Pines still have thin spots. Did not set classic but will later this week.

Please help us by staying off the course until Wednesday morning. We will have a limited opening then. Seven inches of very light fluff over bare ground, so it will be thin. Rock skis for sure. Too thin to set classic track yet. Thanks for staying away today.

We are keeping a very close eye on conditions and will assess again Tuesday afternoon. If the forecast proves correct, we anticipate a limited opening on Wednesday, November 30.

More of the same conditions, but snow is coming today! 3k is quite good, 5k is very religious in places “Holey” Snow coming later today and tonight! Stay tuned for updates.

We are in the final run to ask the Park City Council to restore the Thaynes Canyon parking. Any opinion you can offer to the Mayor’s office or Council that is positive and supports a solution that serves you as a valuable customer, serves our youth teams and our paraskiers would be valued. The current proposal calls for 10am to 6pm parking on the snow along Thaynes with spaces reserved for para-athletes. This is a good proposal that serves all of our communities and customers and tries to address the neighbor issues. We believe that Nordic Skiers will respect any posted hours and believe that heavy enforcement will not be required. Help us help you please.

More of the same but changes on the horizon. the 3k is wonderful skiing. just be aware of thin spots and a bit of ice near the pine trees.

Remember to encourage the Park City Council to return the Thaynes Canyon Parking area. You can’t take away a 30 year solution and not offer an alternative. They are meeting Dec 8th on this topic. Who would think that a handful of parking spaces for cross country skiers would be the most consuming issue in the entire town… You can find their contact information online if you wish.

Maybe a change in the air? A little warmer this morning with a chance of snow later today. Fingers crossed. 3k is still pretty good, but the warm temps are not friendly. We hope you’ve enjoyed the early season opening. We have!

Please carpool, take transit, walk, bike or hoverboard in. Stay tuned for additional actions you may be able to take to help ensure that Thaynes Canyon parking will return for the season. Don’t let them take away a solution without another effective solution in place.

Not much to report. 3k is still hoping strong, but the rest definitely needs a touch of snow. Ski with awareness. Come in to check out the new gear (we have your size) and go for a ski! Please carpool, walk, take the bus, skateboard, cycle etc. Anything to ease the parking until we get Thaynes Canyon back. Fingers crossed it will get approved by the Park City Council on December 8th. Please feel free to contact the Mayor’s office or the Park City Council if you have an opinion on the year-round 30 year use of the off street parking on Thaynes Canyon Drive. We believe that it is the best and safest solution for ALL of our customers and programs.
