Spruces

Matt from the USFS has groomed Spruces twice this week. Early season conditions for sure, so watch for rocks and thin spots on connector and a few spots on the upper loop. Corduroy set on upper, lower rolled, Jordan Pines sledpacked. No classic yet. Cold snow and fun skiing!

No skiing now. There was skiing last week, but the heavy weekend rains stripped all of the snow, and Tuesday it was all bare ground. Last night two inches fell, but it will be gone within a day or two. You will be unhappy if you try to ski Mountain Dell right now.

Hello,
Welcome to the Winter Season at Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center!!

We currently are waiting on more snow before we open our trail system. 25% of our tracks follow our cart parts which are 100% clear right now!

We hope to open around December 1st. Our Season passes for the track will go on sale December 1st as well!

We look forward to seeing everyone out here soon to ski the beautiful Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center trail system!

PLEASE show respect to the golf course workers. Your actions can cause damage to sensitive areas of the course, and course shutdown is not yet complete. As of 6 P.M. on Wednesday, November 2, Mountain Dell had between 6.5 inches and 7.5 inches of snow over most of the grass surface. Cart paths and other pavement were mostly bare. Like almost every nordic site in Utah, our machinery is still in its long summer nap, so we do not have any grooming scheduled. If you choose to put skis on snow at Mountain Dell in the next few days, DO NOT walk or ski over greens. Those areas are always fenced off before skiing starts, but not now. Every loop other than Lower is staked, so it is easy to follow the desired ski course. As you walk from the parking lot to the top of the course, be sure to give the normally fenced area (the 18th green) a wide berth. Last week’s storm brought down massive amounts of limbs, and after more than 30 groomer hours of tree removal on Tuesday, more came down Wednesday. Classic should be fun, Skate will not be possible. Show extreme caution when crossing areas of pavement to avoid injury to you and your skis. Thanks.

Well, that’s a wrap. Pavement showing on north side of upper loop prevents a full groom. We are finished grooming for the year. There is still plenty of snow up there to ski on, and fresh snow next week could make for nice classic skiing. However, grooming operations are concluded. Thanks for a good season!

Spruces

About 1-2 inches of new snow at Spruces. I groomed the Upper Loop this morning, it was still snowing hard as I left, so if you go up it will likely be fresh snow on top of corduroy. Be careful, even though there is new snow, there is pavement just underneath it on the North side of the Upper Loops that you could go down to. Have fun!

Solitude Nordic

Grooming today was not too bad today. Temps warming up with a high of 46 so being your spring skis for the afternoon. Tomorrow should be about the same. We should stay open until at least April 18, but conditions permitting. Enjoy your skiing while you can!

Spruces

Folks, I’ll be honest with you, conditions were nice today. We groomed the Spruces upper loop and the practice loops. We are done grooming the lower loop and Jordan Pines for the year. Spruces upper loop still skiable all the way around, but look out for tree wells and pavement. Have fun!

Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area

(Thurs. Mar. 31) Last Deer Hollow Grooming for the Season!
Today was the last Grooming Day for the season… 😢 it was snowing as we were grooming. The Big Cat was able to lay some good corduroy and track. All of the XC Trails were groomed with the big SnoCat Groomer, and tracks were set on most.
Snowshoe trails were groomed with the BearCat snowmobile and small YTS Groomer.
Todays Groomers were Jess H. (FS) & Volunteers: Steve, Topher, Chris, & Jim.
The Deer Hollow snow pack is a settled 3 ft., making good backcountry/off-trail conditions. These beautiful spring conditions, won’t last long, so get out and enjoy!
For us “Die-Hards”, the skiing and snowshoeing doesn’t end now! Skiable snow may last into May on protected north-facing slopes… you just have to be willing to find it.
Note: After the grooming, a couple of inches of new snow fell on the trails.
