Short further update: tomorrow and Monday, we will be holding a mock rack for our junior skiers from 1-3 pm with warm up beforehand. The tracks will be very crowded then so we highly recommend coming to do your ski before or after that time. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for being awesome in this difficult weather situation!!
Spruces
Good morning. I rolled a very light dusting of snow on the Upper Loops this morning. Temperatures have been very warm and more pavement has been exposed, so please be careful. Have a good weekend!
Soldier Hollow
Despite the rain and warmth, the 1.5 km artificial snow ribbon we have here is in fine shape, groomed to a purchasable surface at 8 am. Come ski a few laps to get out the weather blahs and compliment it with a fancy drink from our Basecamp Cafe, before doing a bit of shopping for the last of your holiday gifts.
White Pine
it rained hard last night.
THE SHOP IS OPEN 9-5 TODAY. We continue to check the weather forecast every five minutes. We never thought we’d be living the plot of “White Christmas” this season.
None of our ski trails are currently open and the forecast for the next several days remains excellent for visiting friends, eating cookies, gift giving, coffee drinking and not so good for skiing. Fingers crossed (but not your ski tips!) for some snow soon. Drop in to the shop and we can commiserate and catch up whilst we wax poetic with memories of snowy winters, fast wax and smooth corduroy.
Soldier Hollow
Nasty overnight temperature surge after a refreshingly seasonal day yesterday – the current temperature at 8:15 am is greater than the expected high, so rather unfortunate. We still have our trusty loop of artificial snow, 1.5 km from east Stadium to the junction of Pony Express – it is a bit slick to use caution today.

Spruces
Good afternoon, we took the sleds out and rolled a light dusting of snow on the Spruces Upper Loops this morning. The southern part of the upper loops has stayed cold and has good coverage. The northern side of the loops has quite a bit of ice and some pavement showing, so be careful there. Enjoy!
Solitude Nordic
Lake Loop groomed this morning for skate and classic. It’s only half a kilometer but we’ll take it! About 3″ of fresh sugary snow since yesterday.
The Redman loops are also open but were not groomed today.
For now, ski passes and rentals are half off. We are open for lessons every day now.
Community Day is coming soon! January 9th, 2026. More info on our website.

For those of you who braved yesterday’s soggy conditions you should be pleased to know it is cold and sunny right now with the usual impeccable grooming of our manmade track with double classic tracks suitable for your best equipment. It is 20F at 830am. Chances of precipitation return around midday so morning should be best (chance of rain/snow and a high of 44 expected). Lots of snowmaking happening right now so hopefully our current 1.5k laps will soon grow longer.
Soldier Hollow
We have a lovely 1.5km that is holding up well despite the soggy conditions.

We have pristine grooming this morning on our 1.5 km loop from the east stadium up to the junction of Pony Express trail in the Hollow! Snow guns are repositioned and are starting to pile around the rest of the stadium loop, so more coming soon! And remember, “It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.” – Jane Austin, 250 years old today!!!!!!!
Soldier Hollow
Another great night of snowmaking and now we have groomed all the way to the Pony Express trail Junction and down the south side of the Hollow, making for a great loop!! if you come early just be very cautious of the wet slow snow under the guns!!!!! It is easy to feel like Lindsey Vonn and then suddenly have your skis grab and be down for the count! Come enjoy a piece of winter!
Spruces
Yes, it is worth it. Skated late Sunday, and the portions that we worked Friday morning still skated very well. There was no thaw/freeze on Saturday or Sunday and no loss of coverage. Stay on the stuff worked hard on Friday morning and you will find smooth, fast, predictable conditions. Venture off that and you will find lumps, ruts, frozen surfaces, actual ice, some bare pavement and the occasional 10 meter patch of reasonable ski surface. Skiing should be fine on the groomed portions all day Monday. You can piece together a 2K loop. Heck, in the summer US athletes fly half way across the globe to ski 1K in a tunnel. Spruces beats that by a long shot.

None of our ski trails are currently open and the forecast for the next several days is good for gift shopping, cycling or hiking, not so good for skiing.
