We have snow, but can’t get to it. Plows have not yet gone beyond the UDOT shed, and the roadway is impassible. We endeavor to get after it early Thursday, but it will be a big task. We anticipate having limited track (Main, Mitten, Bypass) groomed for skate and classic by about 11 A.M. Please do not get on course before then. Thanks.

Good morning Spruces skiers. We are getting a lot of snow up here! We sled packed and rolled all of Spruces and Jordan Pines today. The snow is still falling heavily as we are leaving, lots more to come.
Soldier Hollow
More snow! We got such a good amount that the natural trails can be skied at your own risk! And more has come – 3-4 inches overnight and falling heavily as we speak. We apologize for the unplowed in road. Please be safe! We have the Charter School Olympics today! We will be setting up various courses in the stadiums from 8:30 am – noon and then the competitions are from noon – 3 pm! You are welcome to ski anywhere anytime, just please be courteous.

The big one is here! We’re talking in FEET: 1.5′ overnight, 2′ forecast for today, snowing very hard now.
Lake loop to Evergreen, Cabin Fever to New Sensation to Solitude Street were groomed this morning (I promise, there are classic tracks under there somewhere). It will take a few days to pack the trails and get everything open.
Be careful if you come up this week, there will be lots of traffic and snow on the road.

Tomorrow we ski!
We received some good snow overnight and more expected during the day. We are at about 6 inches total with the wind moving the fresh snow around. We will be doing trail preparation today in anticipation of opening for skiing again tomorrow (Thursday). We are packing the trail from grass two days ago, so give us a chance to make certain the base is set so the skiing will last as long as possible. It’s by far the largest storm we’ve had all season. THE NORDIC SHOP REMAINS OPEN FOR SALES, WAXING, RENTALS AND SERVICE. We are still offering ski rentals for and our guided ski and snowshoe tours. Please stay off the golf course and other trails to help preserve the base and prevent damage as we prepare the tracks. Warm red beanies are recommended wear in blustery times. Spruces was groomed this afternoon between storm 1 and storm 2. Classic lanes are crisp and skating is still soft, but should set up nicely.

Snoooooooow! Only about an inch so far but coming down well. We groomed our 4-5 km at 8 am so as good as you can expect in very windy, graupelly conditions right now! 2-4 more inches predicted for the rest of the day!

We received just over an inch of snow on the warm ground overnight. It looks like more snow will be coming today and tonight. We need to have about 6 inches on the ground to start trail packing. If the storm comes in as predicted, we’ll need a bit of time to build up the track from the base and we’ll be skiing again by Thursday (fingers crossed).

We are watching this week’s storm closely and hope we can add to our six day season of groomed track. The turf and pavement are very warm currently, and it will take at least six inches of snow on the ground for us to set a track. Fingers crossed we see you on snow by the end of this week at Mountain Dell.
