Jeremy Ranch

Good Morning,

It’s a warm sunny morning! The upper trail has been groomed for skate and the classic. Unfortunately, we were only able to groom the 1km loop on the lower trail due melting snow on the trail and the bridges. Cones are set up for caution and we please ask that you abide by them for your safety. The connector trail on holes #18 and #17 is closed until further notice due to wet runoff in certain areas.

All TUNA members receive 20% off day and season passes along with 25% off all merchandise in the Nordic Shop. All skiers can enjoy lunch in the dining room with a 10% discount when they show their pass. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you for your continued support of the JR Nordic Center.

Thank you,

Mountain Dell

You win some-you lose some. Seems to be the theme this winter as far as storms are concerned. Yesterday’s spring temps were not kind to Mountain Dell. Dan O’ Brien and I showed up to 56 F at 6:00 pm to begin evening groom shift hoping to get some decent corduroy down before the track locked up overnight, or worse, before the projected overnight rains got to it. Not sure if the rain materialized, but the temps barely moderated. As of 7:30 am this morning the Mtn. Dell weather station is registering 49F. The track likely firmed up, but it is not going to last. Get on what’s left of it before noon today. Lower, Creek and the Lolli Stem were all closed last night due to the large bare spots opening up. Wiggle Room had been closed earlier in the day for same reason. Main, Mitten, Lolli Top and Boomerang all received a gentle touch refresher of the corduroy. Too thin to attempt a classic reset, except on the Lolli Top, where marginally decent classic was reset. Thin and opening bare spots exist on several areas of the track. Standing water also exists in some areas, most notably, the final uphill climb on the Main to the course start. Watch out for cart path on areas of the open track that have very minimal coverage. Cheers and thank you for your support of TUNA!

White Pine

A lovely, but warm sunrise over Park City this morning. We are expecting temperatures well above 40 degrees by afternoon. Some blue sky peeking through the clouds to greet the day. All trails are open and in good condition for skiing. We groomed the 3k, 5k the Farm and Dog loop last night and reset classic. Conditions will be very fast and glazed this morning and a lot of softening later as the sun hits the trails. Expected spring-like mixed conditions with soft melting surface in the sun and glazed in the shade. Keep your eyes forward and watch where you are going. Prime ski time will be from about 10 until 2 today as the snow temperature lags behind the air temperature.

We are still treating the 5k gently due to snow depth in a few areas and to help protect the golf course turf. We STRONGLY recommend classic skiing after midday to prevent track damage from deep skate cuts. Wax will be klister for kick and red/yellow for glide over the day. We’ll see the snow transform quickly and early today so make sure you’re waxed and have some structure on your bases to release the surface tension. Be aware of icy patches in the parking lot and walkways. Walk with care in your ski boots and use the handrail on the stairs.
The store and service shop are open all day. We can wax or structure your skis and upgrade your gear as needed. No walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails. If you need to take a physical and/or mental therapy getaway or a news cycle break we’re here for you every day. It will be a great afternoon to drop off your skis for a spa treatment so they’ll be ready for your next adventures.
Put on your sunglasses, touch up your sunscreen, tighten those straps and head outside to lace together some laps today! Stay hydrated, spread Joy and Happiness on the trails, look out for signs of bunnies and ducks, ski safe and be kind. Thank you for being part of our amazing community and reading all the way down to the bottom of another mid-winter spring conditions trail report. Go for a ski and then drop in the store to say hi and visit for a few minutes. See you on the trails!

Welcome to the unofficial Community Center of Park CIty. This season is White Pine’s 47th on the Park City Golf Course and we’re proud of our 53 years as a locally owned and operated business in Park City. Shop Local, Ski Local. A proud part of the Jans family. Our partnership with Park City and the community runs deep. It is very rare to have such an incredible year-round community resource right here in town. We’ve been getting you into the outdoors for more than 50 years!

Mid-Winter Special – All full ski packages (skis, bindings, boots and poles) are 20% off through the weekend. Pole-a-Palooza is still going on with all poles in the shop 25% off. Remaining kids clothing and gloves 30% off. Get in and gear up now!

We have another Toko Wax Clinic coming up due to popular demand. Saturday March 1st at 3:30 at the Nordic Center. $10 cover charge and discounts after the clinic on wax and waxing accessories. We’ll be giving away a pair of Swix poles after the clinic to a lucky attendee. No reservations required.

Groomed to the pass this evening for classic and skate. The classic looked quite nice and there should be better outside pole support since with was moved inward a bit. The skate lane cleaned up nicely from the heavy weekend activity. There was only one set of skate tracks on it when grooming was finished after dark. With forecast temperatures in the 50’s and rain soon, you might want to do what you can to ski here before the lower trail melts again. Carpe Skium.

Mountain Dell

Groomed Sunday night from 5:30 to 8:30 pm – Tom and Drew. Temperature 45 degree dipping to 40 deg.
Groomed for skate and classic- Main, Mitten, Lower to Swanson’s Cutoff, Park, Lolli stem and Lollipop, Wiggleroom and Boomerang. Results are fair.
Groomed for Skate only- Creek and Kids Cutoff. Results are fair.
The trails will be icy and fast in the morning.

White Pine

Another beautiful cold sunrise over Park City. Blue sky and few wispy clouds to greet the day. All trails are open and in great condition for skiing. We groomed the 3k and 5k loops last night and smoothed out packed powder corduroy and classic tracks. Conditions today will be firm packed powder early and softening a bit late in the day. Prime ski time will be from about 9 until 3 today as the snow will be staying cold even as the air warms.
We are still treating the 5k gently due to snow depth in a few areas and to help protect the golf course turf. Both classic and skate skiing will be very good today. Air temperatures will drift well above freezing today under some lacy clouds wrapping around the mountains late in the day.
Wax will be blue/violet for kick and Blue/violet/red for glide over the day. We may see the snow transform early afternoon, so make sure you’re waxed and have some structure on your bases to release the surface tension. Please focus on where you are going out there. The store and service shop are OPEN all day. We can wax or structure your skis and upgrade your gear as needed. No walking, dogs, running, cycling, driving or trespassing on the trails.

Newly groomed Saturday night: Main, Mitten, Lower to Swanson’s, Creek, Boomerang, Wiggle Room, Lollipop, Bypass and Kids Cutoff. Good coverage, good conditions, and the most track we’ve had all season.
