East Canyon Highway groomed midday Sunday for skate to the top (5.4 mi. / 8.7 km). Particularly nice skating conditions, apart from a few small areas of windblown dirt that will momentarily put on the brakes. User-maintained classic seemed in pretty good shape. Working solo today and in today’s conditions, it was going to be difficult to improve upon, so classic track set a few days ago left untouched.

Continued great skiing. Very cold overnights are keeping us in good shape despite the relentless drought. Slight warming trend in the afternoons will become challenging in the next few weeks, but for now, get here and ski while it’s so good. The alpine areas would call it machine groomed packed powder. close enough for today. All trails groomed and open with great coverage. All open loops groomed Saturday night for skate, including World Cup. Existing classic is holding up nicely given our lack of snow. The theme for Sunday will be firm and fast…enjoy!

Hello from the Solitude Nordic Center! Trail conditions are great for skate or classic today. Our temps have been below freezing for most of the month (and sometimes well below) keeping our snow in good condition. Cold snow temps this morning with temps rising to upper 20s today changing your skate wax from blue to red at about 12:00 pm in the sunny spots.

We groomed all trails for skate last evening and the corduroy was looking fantastic when we left. We reset the classic on Wiggle Room and Kids Cutoff but left the rest be as it was still in good shape. Coverage is great (thanks to the crew up there yesterday moving snow). Enjoy!

It is feeling a bit like the Groundhog Day movie! Same story, skate skiing is very good.
Classic is ok to the restroom and then improves above.
Towards the top we noticed a fair amount of cougar tracks. Kinda fun to know they are out!
Will be a nice day of skiing tomorrow.

All trails except Lower (closed) were groomed for skate and classic track was reset last night. Skating should be great today. We got good results resetting classic track in most spots. Be cautious walking to start as icy conditions exist. There will be groomers on course throughout the day today moving snow to thin spots. Please use caution and avoid trails they’re working on. Bundle up and get out there!!

Groundhog Month? Another super cold overnight with slight warming in the afternoon. All trails open and surfaces refreshed. Slow sublimation of the base continues as moisture leaves the very firm base. Skiing should be good on your cold waxes and the sun will be shining all day. Bundle up and come skiing!

Fairview
We had a lot of wind and some drifting yesterday after grooming and the skate lane and classic tracks drifted in in some places. So I groomed again today….two turns around the course on the skating lane and then I set a new classic track afterwards. Looks great especially for skaters. Remember I am out of town til mid week but the weather looks stable and the skiing should be very good for the next several days. Enjoy!
