March coming in like a Lion? If the forecast holds, that’s a definite yes. Another incredible sunrise this morning. A breezy warm morning leading in to a windy pre-storm evening. It will be gusty and warm today. Heading for a high temperature near 40 degrees again today. The track will be firm packed, and a little sticky with the wind and warming temperatures for classic and skate. All trails open and will be snowcat groomed today. Transformed snow later with the wind scrubbing and warming. Watch for just a couple of icy, sticky or wind scrubbed patches. There will be pine cones and willow twigs scattered about from the wind. Ski with awareness. The 3k and 5k will be ready first, the Dog Loop, Farm and Armstrong will be groomed next. Red wax and structure today. Please drive safely, walk with care in your ski boots and ski with Joy! Purchase your pass and wear it please. Be aware, be careful and ski within your abilities. PLEASE ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play in the snow, drop in the shop to say hi, visit the ducks, look for snow bunnies, keep an eye out for the bald eagle and have a Joyfully breezy ski day!

Friday morning we are taking a pause as we await the storm. Course is open and skate is level and predictable. Next few days might be adventure days on course. If there is fresh snow Saturday morning, we will do a limited grooming pass. The storm is predicted to come in Saturday evening, so Sunday will be soft and snowy. Expect much more open by Monday. Welcome to March!

Asphalt is showing in places and the high winds have scoured the snow from the track in the first mile or so. The track is icy down low. Grooming is on hold until more snow arrives. Snow dances aren’t just for early season. Boogie!

Good Morning,

It is a great start to the day!! Both the upper and lower track have been groomed for skate. The classic tracks were reset on both the upper and lower track. There are a couple of thin spots in the classic lane on the upper track and they have been marked with cones. Please ski with caution around these areas. Conditions are firm this morning, but will soften through out the day with the sunshine and temperatures rising above 40 degrees. It looks like more snow is on the way for the late weekend.

Come on out and enjoy the trails today!!

Happy Leap Day! Did you see the sunrise this morning? Wow! A cold morning leading in to a beautiful sunny winter day! Heading for a high temperature near 40 degrees again today but the track should stay pretty nice through the afternoon after the cold and clear overnight. All trails open and will be groomed today. We did not groom near the church yesterday due to the moose that was wandering around. Please do not harass the wildlife. We’ll be grooming the barn side of the farm this morning and then see how the wildlife situation goes.

Fresh packed and corduroy powder for classic and skate early today. Transformed snow later in the day. Watch for just a couple of icy, sticky or wind scrubbed patches due to the wind and sun. Ski with awareness. The 3k and 5k will be ready first, the Dog Loop, Farm and Armstrong will be groomed next. Blue wax early then red today. Be aware of icy sidewalks, winter walking conditions and use the handrails on the stairs.

Please drive safely, walk with care in your ski boots and ski with Joy! Purchase your pass and wear it please. Be aware, be careful and ski within your abilities. PLEASE ride the bus, micro transit, carpool, skateboard, cycle, e-bike or walk if you can. Mountain Dell

Mountain Dell was groomed for skate only Wednesday night. Unfortunately the current snow conditions are not allowing us to set a consistent classic track on the remaining snow we have. Hopefully this weekend’s storm delivers some help with that.

Main, Mitten, Boomerang and the Lollitop were groomed for skate. Lollipop stick was closed due to low snow and Park Road Bypass will require a short detour to go around a large bare spot.

Have a great day out there.

Wednesday Morning Report

The Dell was groomed this morning at 6am. Mitten, Main, Lollipop, Boomerang and Park Ave (the section of Kid’s from Main to the Park By-Pass Road) were groomed for Skate. Condition did not allow us to reset the Classic lanes. Temperatures were hovering around 11 degrees. Skiing should be good for skate skiing today on all open trails, except Park Ave. where grass is starting to show. Be aware of the icy patched on Main and Lolli-Top. Remember you sunscreen and enjoy the sunny day.

Crispy cold morning (3 degrees at the shop, 0 degrees at the Farm) leading in to a beautiful sunny winter day! Heading for a high temperature near 40 degrees today but the track should stay pretty nice through the afternoon after the very cold and clear overnight. We groomed everything at the end of the storm , but there was still a fair amount of wind to drift in areas. All trails open and will be groomed today. We did not groom near the church yesterday due to the moose that was wandering around being harassed for photos all day. We gave it a lot of room but the crazy people chasing after it for photos kept it moving and a bit agitated all day. Please do not harass the wildlife. We’ll be grooming the barn side of the farm this morning and then see how the wildlife situation goes. Fresh packed squeaky cold snow for classic and skate today. Watch for some icy, sticky or drifty patches due to the wind. Ski with awareness. The 3k and 5k will be ready first, the Dog Loop, Farm and Armstrong will be groomed next. Blue wax today and classic should be quite good.

Parking is available all around the hotel and underground but everything you can do to reduce single driver trips and park smart helps! Come play in the snow, drop in the shop to say hi, visit the ducks, look for snow bunnies and have a wintery and Joy-filled ski day!

If you’ve read this far, Thank you! We also have an in-store special starting today. All remaining nordic ski boots are 30% off marked price. Selection is limited to stock on hand, no special orders. We also just received a new small order of fish-scale touring skis including a few partial metal edge Rossignols. The skis are not on sale, but if you hurry, we have your size in stock again.

Track was groomed yesterday afternoon. Major moonscape on the golf course after the storm and lots of wind. I gave up on the lower loop as there are too many short stretches with minimal coverage and no way to add snow to them. The upper loop (3 miles) has good coverage with one short exception and the grooming produced a good skate lane. No classic track- sorry. But the base is thinning and as of yesterday it would be hard to penetrate. Morning temperatures are about 10˚ F so good skiing (skating) for now.
