Friday Haiku:
One more warm weekend,
Watch nordic ski history,
The Games start today.

THE NORDIC SHOP REMAINS OPEN FOR SALES, WAXING AND SERVICE. We have suspended grooming to preserve the golf course, our equipment and our remaining strands of sanity. We are still offering limited lessons and snowshoe tours.

We managed four weeks of great skiing from the 6 inches that fell January 5th. There are couple of segments of skiing on the 3km trail, but it is not continuous due to extreme melting. IF you head out to ski, you do so at your own risk. Please be extremely cautious in the thin and exposed areas of the trail. Red beanies are still recommended both on and off the trail. ALL of our trails are officially and temporarily CLOSED.
The shop is OPEN 9-5 today offering limited lessons, rental skis for Bonanza Flat, the Uintahs, and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, check out the new ski releases and head outside to bask in the sun. Drop off your skis for a wax spa session or repairs. Join us for snow tangos, sacrificial offerings to Ullr, light appetizers and snow bunnies at sunset. The next real storm will arrive eventually… someday…in the future…maybe…we’ll see…still believing…fingers crossed…looking to the sky…yesterday was a tease…checking the magic 8-ball twice a day…thinking positive still….despite the heat….it simply must snow, right?…maybe next week…definitely not this week…keep the faith…snowflake in the forecast…moisture next week?…

Attention Season Pass Holders! All 25/26 Season White Pine Touring Season Pass holders are eligible for a 20% Thank You discount on complete (skis, bindings, boots and poles) Nordic ski packages. Come in now for the best selection while we still have your sizes!

Good morning! All trails groomed for classic and skate skiing. Some thaw/freeze under the trees and in areas with prolonged exposed to the sun. Cornucopia is getting thin with visible rocks off to the side of the trail. Otherwise great skiing considering the lack of snow so far this winter.

Monday Haiku:
Groundhog day again,
six more weeks of this?! or what,
Don’t trust the groundhog

Despite the April like temperatures, the 3km “Community Loop” remains OPEN with fairly coverage due to heroic staff shoveling efforts and skillful grooming. Our groomers smoothed the skate surface last night on the 3km. Casual classic tracks are skier set adjacent to most of the loop and on-track classic skiing is good despite the lack of set tracks, warm weather and snow depth. The firm base should hold for well until midday. Best skiing will be between 9:30am and 12pm. Please be cautious in the thinning areas of the trail. Please no walking or dogs or walking of dogs on the trails. Above 50 degree temperatures for the next several days will affect the trail conditions and will bring up some icy, grassy or cart path patches from below.
Red beanies and purple wax early today with base structure, red/yellow wax from midday. SPF50+ all day. The 5km Loop, Armstrong, Dog Loop and Farm trails are CLOSED. Ski with attention and caution on the trails early and the soft trail later today, There are a growing number of unmarked hazards out there.
We are OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons, rental skis, and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your pass and head outside to play in the sun and snow while we have it! Drop off your skis after skiing for a wax spa session. Join us for snow dances, sacrificial offerings to Ullr, yoga and snow bunny seeking in the evening. Put on your sun hat, peel off the jackets and lace together some laps! Ski it while we still have it, the next real storm will arrive eventually… someday…in the future…maybe…we’ll see…still believing…fingers crossed…looking to the sky…yesterday was a tease…checking the magic 8-ball twice a day…thinking positive still….despite the heat….it simply must snow, right?…maybe next week…

A CONTINUING THANK YOU to our groomer and staff shoveling teams who’ve spent hours out on the trails making your skiing possible. It’s difficult work and they give their all to make the trails great.
