Arrived to find 2-3″ of very wet snow this AM. 31 degrees when we arrived at 8:00, 37 degrees as I write this at 11:30. We groomed the Main, Mitten (shortened), Kid’s cutoff, Boomerang, Wiggle Room, and the Lollitop. We groomed but then closed the stem of the lollipop due to low snow. Conditions are marginal, to fair. It rained yesterday PM prior to snow. Take care with thin snow pack. Hopefully the next couple days we’ll get a little more substantial amount.
Please take a moment on the Mtn Dell page (https://utahnordic.org/mtndell/) to see the new webcam and snow stake.

Mountain Dell

3-inches of warm, wet snow fell overnight. We groomed main , upper mitten, out’n back, wiggle room and the upper lollipop for skate and classic, but the snow is thin in spots. Skiing will be better after the remainder of the storm. Beware that the handle of the lollipop is closed due to thin snow and car tracks. Also expect some ponding from the springs. Happy Holidays!

White Pine

We are open until 4 this afternoon! Everyone please have a safe and healthy holiday. Everything is groomed and track set after the couple inches of fresh snow last night. Please purchase and display your trail pass. Be a good example. A great day for skiing. We’ll be open noon until 4 tomorrow. Please wear your mask inside the shop. We want to enjoy the holidays with our families too!

Be a bit lazy before coming to ski today. Concern about moisture has us grooming a bit later this morning. It rained hard for a while before changing to snow, giving us 2-3 inches. Steve and David are producing your Christmas Eve track right now, planning to wrap up some new skate and classic by about 10:30 A.M. Best skiing at noon or later. Thanks for skiing Mountain Dell!

Groomed Main, MItten to cutoff, Lollytop, Wiggle Room, Boomerange, Kid’s Cutoff and Park Road by pass for skate this morning. We did try a new classic track on the Mitten as well. It did freeze just enough overnight so that the skating should be very good until it rains today. The soone you can ski the better. Once it starts raining I would go shopping. Merry Christmas.

It may be a very interesting afternoon! A good chance of expedition conditions later today. Warm this morning, everything will get a refresh before the storm rolls in mid-afternoon. Conditions should be very good this morning but it is expected to be quite breezy as the storm comes in. Best bet is an early ski, stop in to thank the staff for their hard work and check out the new gear that arrived yesterday. Yes, we have moderately priced poles back in stock. They won’t last long!

12/24 9-4
12/25 12-4
12/26 9-5

Everyone stay safe and healthy. You must wear your mask while inside the store. We want to stay open and we want to enjoy the holidays with our families too.

We groomed skate only this morning on Main, Mitten, Kids Cutoff, Boomerang, Wiggle and Lollitop. All of lower is now closed until we get some more snow. Classic track is still in decent shape but was not reset. Should be great skating today! Enjoy!

Groomed and set track this morning. Could not set classic track from trailhead to elbow fork due to the hard snow packed conditions. Above elbow fork to big water the ski trail is in excellent condition

Groomed all Spruces loops this morning. Beautiful day of skiing. A bit thin still in a few spots, will be better after snow this week!

Mountain Dell

Groomed Main, abbreviated Mitten, Lower to Cullen’s Boomerang, Wiggle Room, Lolli Top, Kid’s Cutoff and Park By Pass for skate. The Creek Loop, Lolli stem and Lower below Cullen’s remain closed. Current snow conditions did not allow a refresh/reset of classic and any attempt would not have improved upon what currently exists. That said, the classic is in quite good shape considering the thin snowpack in many areas of the course and shows very little glazing. Today should be a great day to get up to Mountain Dell for a slide. Early season conditions, so be looking out for some thin areas. The succession of multiple storms forecast for the next week will be much welcomed and should allow us to open more of the track and reset the classic. Enjoy!

Another beautiful day of spring skiing…. It has been a busy holiday week already. Come in (with your mask on please) and say hi on your way out to the trails. The White Pine Staff have been working incredibly long hours to make sure you have the best skiing possible. Be sure to thank them when you’re here. Everything is groomed and open. Hard track conditions early, spring skiing this afternoon. TOKO wax clinic at 4:30 pm TODAY! drop in and learn the latest about taking care of your skis. Please be kind and courteous out on the trails. There are dozens of new people out learning to ski and you were once one of them. Turn off your music, silence your phone and just escape for a while. Happy Solstice!

Groomed for skate to Big Mountain Pass. Classic set to the first switchback. It’s thin yet firm down low. Watch for asphalt, especially at the road cut and little hill at about mile 1. Generally good coverage above the restroom, but look for thin spots ascending the remaining switchbacks. Very few folks on it after we finished, so with a good freeze tonight, it should be good skiing in the morning. Ski it early and before it gets rutted by non-Nordic users.
