SUNday Haiku:
Another hot one,
3k is holding firm still,
melting drips, sun hats.

Despite the April-like temperatures, the 3km “Community Loop” remains OPEN with good coverage due to incredible community and staff shoveling efforts and skillful grooming. Our groomers smoothed and refreshed the skate surface last night on the 3km. Casual classic tracks are skier set adjacent to most of the loop and on-track classic skiing is good despite the lack of set tracks, warm weather and snow depth. The firm base should hold for well until midday. It will be quite warm again this afternoon, so best skiing will be between 9:30am and 12pm.
Please no walking or dogs or walking of dogs on the trails. Above 50 degree temperatures in the next several days will affect the trail conditions and will probably bring up some icy, grassy or cart path patches from below. Purple wax early today with base structure, red/yellow wax from midday. SPF50+ all day.
The 5km Loop, Armstrong, Dog Loop and Farm trails are CLOSED. Ski with attention and caution on the trails early and the soft trail later today, There are unmarked hazards out there. We are OPEN 9-5 today offering lessons, rental skis, and snowshoes. Drop in to the shop, purchase your pass and head outside to play in the sun and snow while we can! Drop off your skis after skiing for a wax spa session.
Join us for evening snow dances, ceremonial offerings to Ullr, ski yoga and snow bunny seeking in the evening. Put on your sun beanie, peel off the jackets and string together some hot laps! Ski it while we have it, the next real storm will arrive eventually… someday…in the future…maybe…we’ll see…still believing…fingers crossed…looking to the sky…yesterday was a tease…checking the magic 8-ball twice a day…thinking positive still….despite the heat….it simply must snow, right?…

A CONTINUING THANK YOU to our groomer, staff and ski community volunteer shoveling teams who’ve spent hours out on the trails making your skiing possible. It’s difficult work and they give their all to make the trails great. We have the best community of supporters and staff around.

Spruces

Spruces was groomed for skate and classic this morning by Pete. It remains unbelievably good considering we had about 3 inches of freshies around dinner time last night.

A huge thanks to the group of snowshoe folks who were very courteous and stayed to the sides of the track. Sharing is caring!

Come out and get some. If you don’t, luckily, it will probably be there tomorrow too.
