East Canyon Highway groomed for skate and classic to the top (5.4 mi.). While snowmobiles are rare on weekdays, there are usually several on weekends, so expect some snowmobile impact on the groom. Some of the classic was set a little farther to the side than we’d normally do on weekdays, in the hope that this would reduce the likelihood of snowmobile damage. This may mean that some stretches have softer pole plants. Go get it — frequent grooming will likely be happening for only three more weeks at this location this winter.

All trails groomed this morning after another skiff of snow Friday late. Skating lane is very fast and a new classic track set. Beautiful day in the Sanpete Valley!

Arrived at the Spruces at 0600 to 7-8″ fresh new Wasatch white gold. Sled packed and put down new corduroy on the entire system, upper and lower loops. Unfortunately, conditions remained too soft at 1100 to set classic track. Track will be very soft today and likely tomorrow as well. As things firm up in the next couple of days, look for new classic track to be set. Beautiful sunny day in the Central Wasatch. Everyone seems to be chasing fresh pow in the backcountry. Grab your favorite pair of Nordic skis and come up to the Spruces to enjoy some mid-winter sliding in the glorious sunshine!

White Pine

about 8 inches of new snow during the day yesterday and a wee bit of wind. Conditions are incredible cold and sunny. Definitely a day to pull out the blue kick wax and enjoy all the reasons you ski. everything is groomed, conditions are a bit soft because of all the new snow, Please purchase and display your trail pass. If you find any dogs, runners walker or fat bikers at the farm, please politely but firmly remind them that it is a ski trail and they create dangerous conditions for skiers and groomers. We truly appreciate our customers and are working every day to try to give you the best skiing experience possible. check the store, we received a handful of new skate and classic skis this week. maybe one was meant for you. Stay healthy and safe

East Canyon highway received the usual sled packing after a big storm (multiple laps with only snowmobiles) to Big Mountain pass this evening. After this preparatory step, grooming attempts were abandoned because of getting stuck multiple times (sled track spinning on icy snow under new snow). The sled pulling the stuck sled was even getting stuck! It was packed fairly well, so hearty skiers may enjoy skating. Of course, classic will be set by skiers. Hopefully, the new, packed snow sets up and bonds to the slippery layer so the actual groom can resume tomorrow.

About four inches of good medium density snow fell midday at Mtn Dell. We will be working it a bit tonight and then grooming it Saturday morning. Ski conditions should be good after about 10 A.M. Saturday. Anything earlier than 8 A.M. will likely cause skate steps to trench the new snow. Sleep in, have a leisurely cup of coffee and then head up to ski a bit later. Best for the track, best for the groomers, best for the ski community. Enjoy!

Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area

Yesterday Deer Hollow was groomed for the first time this season with the big State SnoCat Groomer. All of the XC trails, some 20 Km, including the outer meadow loop, were groomed and tracks were set. Skating and classic conditions should be great for Fri and the weekend.
The snowshoe trails were groomed, also for the first time this season with the little YTS Groomer pulled by a snowmobile.
Off trail or “backcountry” conditions are also great with about 3 ft. of snow with a firm crust on top, allowing skiing on top without breaking in.

We are grooming the skate lane and setting classic this morning. Snowfall will continue throughout the day which will lead to soft conditions and snowy trails. Enjoy the snow! Have a great day!

Track groomed for skating 2/4 after a couple days of warm weather then a skiff of snow and colder. Skating is excellent. No classic track set today, Snow expected later today so trails will be groomed for skate and classic early Saturday morning.

White Pine

Moderate snow expected today. 3-6 inches overall according to the prognosticators. 3k and 5k will be grooming priorities through the day. We’ll try to get to the farm a bit later. A great day to pull out your classic skis and go for a little tour. Skating will be good with a packed track underneath the fresh. Stay safe and healthy and please purchase and display your trail pass!

Snow is expected to come in starting at 8 A.M. Friday. We groomed Thursday afternoon, with fresh skate and classic on Main, Boomerang, Kids’ Cutoff and the top of Lollipop. It will likely be covered over by about 11 A.M. Friday. Good skate before then, fun classic after. We will have a refreshed track again on Saturday morning. Enjoy!
