East Canyon Hwy groomed for skate and classic to the top. Much damage from large number of weekend walkers and snowmobilers that couldn’t be 100% cleaned up,, but should ski pretty well.

Mountain Dell

Mountain Dell grooming report for 1/31. Reset classic and skate tracks on all loops down to Swanson’s cutoff. Snow dried out over night and the classic track set very nicely. 29 degrees at 9 am when finished and the skiers were already showing up. Enjoy!

East Canyon highway groomed for skate to the top of Big Mountain pass. Ten at the gate and 14″ at the top made for a challenging groom, with several stucks and equipment issues. At least the soft snow will make for an equally challenging ski to the top! Of course, it’s more firm toward the bottom and hopefully, it will all set up nicely over night. It’s a winter wonderland at this venue. Ski it and smile.

Apologies for the delayed grooming report today, but it took a while to tame the beast at the Spruces today. Arrived to 10+” of fresh Wasatch white gold this morning at 0600. Sled packed entire system, upper and lower loops, then proceeded to put down fresh corduroy on the entire course. Almost gave up trying to set classic today as the snow, even with multiple laps of sled packing remained very soft and the classic setter was behaving more like a submarine than a classic setter. Was finally able to set really nice classic track on the upper (eastern) loops. Did not set classic on the lower portion of the system (west of the main Spruces parking lot). The upper and lower loops are now connected, thereby eliminating the need to remove skis to ski between upper and lower loops. Conditions will be somewhat soft for the remainder of today as the track sets up with cold overnight temperatures, but it should be well worthwhile to get up the canyon for a late afternoon/early evening ski. Only saw one Nordic skier and a handful of snow shoe enthusiast during the entire shift. Get out of the valley and come up for some sliding on the Wasatch Front’s newest Nordic skiing addition. Skiing over the next several days should be spectacular. Cheers!

Sun is out, wind is calm. 5-6″ fell overnight. All loops groomed for skate and classic except lower loop. Conditions will remain soft throughout the day but will firm up as more skiers pass.
Use caution walking across the parking lot – it’s an ice rink. Enjoy some great weekend skiing. Roch and Leanne

Spruces

Groomed Upper, Lower, and Pavilion Loops this morning. Set classic track on Upper and Lower loops. Little bit of snow last night. Really beautiful conditions this morning, sun came out around 11:00. More snow coming tonight. Get out and ski! Don’t forget to take your time and stop to look at the beautiful streams and trees in the campground. How about a Forest Fun fact: the first Larch trees in Utah were planted around 1913 in the Spruces Campground – can you find them while you are skiing? Have fun!
