A frosty morning – we are blowing snow up the wazoo, and have groomed nearly all the outlying trails! We have our 2nd Wednesday Night Lights casual citizen series TONIGHT starting at 4:30 pm. It is an exciting skiathlon format so bring both classic and skate skis!
White Pine
A squeaky cold blue wax morning. We started with such a beautiful pink sunrise over the Nordic Center. Definitely the best way to start a ski day.
We groomed the 3k, 5k and Armstrong last night with fresh classic on the 3k and resurfaced skate lanes on everything. This morning on the donut scale its much more powdered sugar than glazed. A powdery surface on top and a firm track below. It’s a beautiful wintery morning and should be mostly sunny and cold all day. The dog loop is open, but a little frisky in spots. The Farm is still awaiting some snow depth. The coverage is thin in the meadow, but we are getting very close! Classic skiing will be good today and skate will also be good but a tiny bit slow again today. A good universal liquid or paste wax on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) will be helpful. Skin skis will be a very good classic option today. The most satisfying skiing will be all day with your family, friends and neighbors. Drop off your skis when you’re done for deeper wax spa treatment and check out the selection of new gear. We still have your boot size in stock and ready to hit the snow.
You must have a trail pass purchased and displayed to access our trails. Everyone please ski with Joie de vivre and share the trail! Grab a friend and bring them outside! Thank you for being part of our amazing community! Please ski safe and enjoy the beauty of the day!
Solitude Nordic
All trails groomed for skate and classic (except for Camp loop). Sunny and cold today, 6° at 8am, high of 27°.
Mountain Dell
Mountain Dell is getting cold! We groomed Main, Mitten, Bypass, Boomerang, and Lollipop for skate. There is still some classic track on Main, Boomerang, and the Lollipop loop, and we tried not to hurt it. The skate track is still uneven at parts due to the heroic snow harvesting efforts of a previous crew. Our main goal was to attempt to even out the track with numerous passes over Mitten and Boomerang. The challenge is smoothing out the deep parts without digging too far into the thin parts. Lower, Creek, and Wiggle Room are still closed. Happy skiing!
SR-65
If you haven’t skied SR-65, Wednesday Jan 8 would be a fantastic day to do it! Groomed for skate and classic Tuesday night from the gate to (almost) the top of Big Mountain Pass. The snow is midwinter nice. Grooming stopped a couple hundred yards short of the top due to soft conditions, but the adventurous skier can still make it to the pass and will be rewarded with amazing views, and as always, a great nordic fitness challenge.
Fairview
Fairview skied great this morning. A bit windy out there but the snow is not drifting. No new grooming today but skate lane was fast and very controllable. On Wednesday Wally Chambers and I will try to add snow to the thinning stretches in order to prolong the track. Cold nights should help.
Again, no new classic track until we get several more inches.
Millcreek
The crew regroomed this morning and set track.
Spruces
Today we groomed everything at Spruces, unfortunately we only used the roller and single track and did not set classic. We wanted to ensure the snow was packed before bringing the Ginzugroomer in. Still, come out and have some fun since it was a beautiful day up there!

Soldier Hollow
We got a surprise 3 inches yesterday! Yippeeeeee! We are grooming the Cowboy Way and Heber Valley Express area as I write so getting just about all the trails done!! Come enjoy this superlatively wintery day with us.
Solitude Nordic
Good morning! 20°F/-7°C at 0810. 2″ new overnight. All trails groomed for skate and classic xc skiing except Camp Loop. New Sensation does not have classic tracks.
White Pine
Another small dusting of fresh snow overnight to spruce up the trails, This morning on the coffee drink scale, the tracks will be a breve. A richer creamier surface on top and a firm track below. Blue wax this morning fading into red or purple in the afternoon given the moisture in the air, snow and potential for afternoon sun. It’s a beautiful wintery morning with a very small chance of a little snow coming and going through the day. The 3km, 5km and Armstrong loops are groomed and open today with skate lane and classic track set. The dog loop is open, but a little playful in spots. The Farm is still awaiting some snow depth. The coverage is thin in the meadow, but we are getting very close!
Classic skiing will be good today and skate will also be good but a tiny bit slow again today. A good universal liquid on your fish scale classic skis (tip to tail) will be helpful. Welcome to the unofficial Community Center of Park CIty. This season is White Pine’s 47th on the Park City Golf Course and we’re proud of our 53 years as a locally owned and operated business in Park City. Shop Local, Ski Local. A proud part of the Jans family. Our partnership with Park City and the community runs deep. It is very rare to have such an incredible year-round community resource right in town. We’ve been getting you into the outdoors for more than 50 years!
Mountain Dell
If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. Monday night grooming consisted of putting down a fresh skate deck on Main, Mitten, Lollipop, Boomerang and Park By-Pass. Classic was reset on most of the Main loop and Boomerang. The snow pack on the remainder of the course is too thin to set classic without damaging equipment and/or the golf course, so no other classic was reset unfortunately. Snow conditions remain tricky for grooming and skiing. Think kick waxing for zero type of tricky. Speaking of thin, coverage remains quite thin on all open portions of the track and rock/grass skis are recommended until further notice. Please ski with caution. Considerable portions of the track have a very uneven surface, due primarily to the massive efforts of Groom Chief Chris Magerl and his crew of snow moving wizards who harvested tons of snow yesterday from adjacent track areas to the track in the hopes of keeping the track alive until the next natural event. The upside of the unevenness is the ability to keep the track going. Without the snow moving efforts, the track would be on borrowed time. Much of last night’s efforts were spent attempting to level the track and the leveling will continue in days to come, so flatter and flatter track should result. Lower, Creek and Wiggle Room remain closed until additional snowfall warrant their safe opening. Despite the challenges, Mtn. Dell is OPEN and completely skiable. Early season conditions persist, but don’t let that stop you from coming up and getting your slide on. Continue to do your best snow dances. Cheers!
Millcreek
Groomed and set track this morning. Light snow showers persist
