Party on, Garth!
Well yeah, there might be some more groomed track. Stay tuned.

That’s a wrap. As we finished the final groom of the season, the skies opened up and we received six inches of fresh in three hours. There will be plentiful snow for many days to come, but we will not be grooming Mountain Dell anymore this season. You are welcome to ski, but please show respect for our SLC Golf hosts and do not ski across greens, which are all fenced or roped off. We should also have many weeks of crust cruising.
Thank you is inadequate for the crew of volunteer groomers who show up daily for four hours of cold, dark, hard work. They make this amazing resource possible. Heading into that fourth hour on a sled in single-digit temperatures requires endurance, a high pain threshold and an unbelievably generous spirit. Most have been at it for well more than 10 winters. I am regularly awed and humbled by their efforts, and am lucky to be associated with such a band of stubborn, dedicated snow farmers.
We groomed 118 days this season, but that still is short of our record year. Our five year average is 101 days. We hope you find that season pass an incredible value, and thank you for being a part of the Mountain Dell community. See you out there!
Good Morning!!
After a cold and dry start to the day, the snow has returned. We were able to groom for skate on the Upper and Lower Trails. A new classic lane is set on all 7km. We are expected to receive another 3-4 inches this morning but things should brighten up this afternoon. Conditions are soft after over 15 inches of new snow from earlier in the weekend. Expect snow covered trails today as we will not be regrooming after the snow stops.
Enjoy the day!!

Expert grooming on nearly everytrail! Absolutely fabulous hard wax classic today – I went out with leftovers on my skis and it worked great! – as well as silky skate lane. We have Apres-Ski at the yurt from 12:00-5:00 pm today! Come join us for hot soup and other warm comfort foods around a blazing fire spiced with wonderful company.
Hello and good morning. 2″ new snow overnight and 1°F/-17°C at 0750 with snow falling. All trails groomed for classic and skate skiing.
Another beautiful Winter day! Very cold temps overnight should make for a slightly firmer track today for skating. Two feet of snow in two days with drifting has led to continued soft conditions and challenging grooming. Classic will be great today with fresh tracks and skate will be the best of the last several days until the snow comes back this afternoon. Blue wax in late March? yes. Not a lot of snow expected later today, but you never know this season. Ski safe in our final couple of weeks!
WCS season prizes and awards are available at the Nordic Center. Come in and receive your accolades!
Sunday, March 26, will be the final grooming shift of the season at Mountain Dell. We plan to wrap up grooming by 10 A.M., but know that snow will still be falling and perhaps an additional inch of snow will fall after we are done grooming. Nothing like the 18+ inches of the past two days or the many gusts of 30+ mph that moved all that new snow. Skiing should be much better on Sunday. Come enjoy our last day of an unbelievable winter. Thanks for skiing Mountain Dell!
About 3-4 feet of new snow at Spruces. I sled packed and rolled Spruces and Jordan Pines this morning. Marko is out now setting classic and ginzu grooming. Should be very nice.
Michael and Tim started sled packing at 9 am (25 degrees) to attack 6 inches of overnight blowing snow. It continued to blow and snow up until we left at 11 am. The conditions are very soft and subject to drifting snow. We groomed Mitten, Main, Lollipop, and Kid’s cutoff. The best skiing will be after this storm passes through.
Good Morning!!
What a storm!! We have received over 16 inches of snow over the past 24 hours. High winds have caused major drifting out on the trails. We are currently packing the lower track but have yet to groom for skate or set a classic lane. The hope is to have the lower trail open by early afternoon. The Upper trail will be attended to after completion of the lower trail. Feel free to call the Nordic Center (435-649-2700) for any further updates. Thank you for your patience!! Be safe on your travels!!
Have a great day!!

Happy Spring? Another fresh 18″ of snow yesterday and overnight, snow early, maybe a little less snow later in the day. We’ll have great classic ski expedition conditions all day. We won’t get to the Farm today due to the wind and deeply drifted snow. 3k, 5k and Armstrong trails are deep, groomed and soft. Back to blue wax today given the wind and compacted snow. Skating will be soft and slow, classic tracks are set and should be great for kicking around. It will be a great day for bundling up and playing in the snow! It will be slow today. If your skis aren’t waxed, you should really consider it.
Trail compacted base is back up to 40″ in most places
We’ll be open until April 9th, so come and see us!
WCS season awards are available at the Nordic Center! Come and get them!
Hello! 10°F at 0845. 9″ overnight. All trails groomed for classic and skate skiing.
Glorious, mid-winter like morning with fresh powder and phenomenal grooming! Come enjoy a day of pure joy on the trails. Tomorrow we have Apres ski at our yurt from 12:00-5:00 pm with warm snacks, beer and fabulous company!
For SATURDAY morning, please stay off the track until at least 11 A.M. The snow will still be falling and our volunteer groomers are facing a daunting morning task. Despite six staff hours of sledpacking, by 6 P.M. Friday we had barely made a dent in the 10+ inches, and the gusts in the 30s were easily transporting snow onto areas we had just packed. We expect continuing wind and an additional eight inches of snow overnight. For Saturday after 10 A.M., we aim to have Main, Mitten, Kids and Lollipop open for skate and classic. Sunday will be the final day of grooming for this outstanding season. Thanks for being a part of the Mountain Dell community!
Good Morning Skiers,
Its another blizzard!! 🙁 The lower track has been groomed this morning, but the upper has not. The conditions will be soft and continue to get softer as the snow comes down through out the day. Be safe!
Have a great day,
Jeremy Ranch Nordic Center.
Good morning! 4″ new snow and 21°F/-6°C at 0815. All trails groomed for classic and skate skiing.
