Snow/rain mix off and on most of the day Wednesday has taken a toll. We will not be grooming for Thursday as we wait for the moisture to settle out. If you ski, expect very soft and uneven conditions. Show caution on parts of the trail that travel over pavement.

White Pine
Mixed conditions today with the snow. everything groomed early, but tracks will disappear with new snow. Good day to enjoy winter in a nuanced way. Travel safe and please remember to mask up inside the store. We’re doing everything we can to keep ourselves and you healthy.
Spruces
Groomed all the loops this morning and set classic track. Have fun!
Deer Hollow Winter Recreation Area
Deer Hollow, east of Cedar City on UT-14 has about 4 feet of nice snow, but it has not been groomed yet with the State Parks groomer due to weather conditions on our usual Thursday grooming day. In the meantime, club volunteers try to use a roller and a small Ginsu-groomer on some of the trails. The parking area has not yet been plowed by our unknown “snow angels” but we hope they will start plowing it soon. The snowplow turnaround nearby (at the boundary of Iron and Kane counties) can be used for parking on non snow days but if your car is in way of UDOT snowplows it may be towed away. We will let you know when conditions improve soon.

Solitude Nordic
Good morning from the Solitude Nordic Center. We were not able to groom this morning due to mechanical issues which will hopefully be fixed today. please standby and check the website or give us a call for updates.
White Pine
Warm before the storm this morning. All trails groomed and open, new snow expected mid-afternoon. It will be increasingly breezy before the snow arrives, so get out early if you can. Please remember to mask up while indoors at the Nordic Center. Do your part to help us all stay healthy and open for business. As a reminder, please park legally when visiting White Pine Touring. The turn-around circle is a fire lane, not a parking area. We believe that if you’re strong enough to ski a few km on the trail, you’re strong enough to walk 150 feet from a legal parking space. Legal parking is available along Thaynes Canyon Drive, around the Hotel Park City and underground. We are also accessible via Park City’s free public transit system and via non-motorized means. Thank you for your cooperation.
Mountain Dell
Groomed all loops except World Cup for skate Monday evening. Existing classic is in good shape and was left alone. Primary focus was on leveling out areas that have seen snow blowing efforts from previous storm cycle to shore up base. Think of these snow blowing efforts as putting money in the bank if you will despite the challenging skiing they can provide for a few days until things can get leveled out. New snow expected Tuesday/Wednesday, but weather guessers seem to be hedging on when, how much and what form (rain/snow)? Unfortunately, the track will be rutted today as lone skier showed up at 21:30 just as we were finishing shift and stowing machines, thinking that the soft corduroy would provide for some great skiing. Pro tip: it does not. Skis much better after it has had a chance to set up and firm up overnight. Happy New Year!

The lower track is groomed for skate and a new classic lane is set. The upper track is groomed for skate. Fast and Firm Conditions.
The track should soften up through the afternoon. Have a great ski!
Mountain Dell
Course groomed Sunday evening (January 2). The skiing should be great on Monday, all loops other than World Cup are currently groomed for both skate and classic.
Fairview
Fairview was groomed this morning for classic and skating. The new snow and cold weather means the snow will take its time to settle and firm up but in the meantime, the skiing is good. I will try to keep grooming this week to renovate the track.
SR-65
Big Mountain groomed to the top for skate and classic late afternoon. Groomers’ sample to the restroom found a more supportable base for skating than might be expected. Classic was good as well. Expect softer conditions above the first switchback as it’s only been groomed a couple of times, but it looked good. Only a few tracks on it when we left at dark. Should be fun in the morning.
Spruces
Main Spruces, Practice/infield area, Pavilion loops and Lower Spruces groomed for skate and classic late this afternoon. Coverage is excellent and conditions are pristine. Track should firm up nicely overnight and skiing should be fantastic Monday. Come up and enjoy sliding on your national forest land as holiday crowds begin to lessen in the coming days. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022. Cheers!

Mountain Dell
Happy 2022. The latest storm totals and a bit of extra snow blowing allowed the entire Mountain Dell nordic center to be groomed for both skate and classic. Great conditions, blue skies, sunny and clear welcome all abilities…a great way to start the new year.
